UBC Recruitment?
.
|
I'm afraid I don't know anything about UBC's rush, but I did notice your "location". Poor baby! Hope you can take a gallon of good chicken soup and feel better real soon!
|
Theta participated in the first tours, and will be holding recruitment parties immediately following rush (there is a moratorium on COB to allow them to come up to average chapter size).
From what I last heard, quota is 19, but I'll need to get the correct number this morning. I think today is Philanthropy day, and Pref is on Sunday. Bids day is Monday. The women who are going through are all fantastic from what I've seen, but it's hard to really get a "feel" for them when all you're doing is sitting in the back of the room.:D |
Quota is now 18 as of Sept. 18th, and UBC Recruitment is going very well. We are all very excited for Preference Parties on Sunday, and I know I can't wait until Bid's Day!:)
Also, by the looks of things Theta is having positive response from the UBC campus in general. I know quite a few girls, who would never have considered joining a sorority, are thinking of joining Theta. Good Luck to everyone for the remainder of Recruitment 2003! |
BID DAY IS TODAY!
Dying to find out how things went! |
me too! me too!
I too cannot wait to find out how my everyone did ~ it's definitely different with Preference being on Sunday and Bid Day being today!! :)
Best wishes to all of UBC's sororities & especially to Theta for all of their efforts - welcome home!! WOO HOO for UBC recruitment 2003 !! :D Jen AGD - DZ '97 UBC alumna |

Recruitment results for UBC
Here's the lowdown.....
The sorority numbers were as follows (Quota was 18): DG, 20 AGD, 19 KKG, 19 ADPi, 18 GPhiB, 17 APhi, 5 DPhiE, 5 The 411 on Kappa Alpha Theta is their recruitment begins today and will take place over the next two weeks. |
According to this page it looks like Formal Pledging occured today (well, technically yesterday - October 7th). Does anyone have any word on numbers or celebrations?
Always great to see the Canadian Greek system grow. Looks like everyone's recruitment went well - even UW had a good turnout. :) |
I just emailed one of my UBC DG's...will post here as soon as I get the 411 on KAT toute de suite!!
|
Theta colonized and pledged 40 women. Congratulations Theta!
|
Whooo hooo!
More Canadian Thetas! (Not that I'm Canadian, but some days I wish I was.) Congrats to all the chapters at UBC and huzzah for another recolonization! |
Just had to put in a plug that Kappa Alpha Theta is the first ever sorority to "set up shop" in Canada.
Theta's Sigma Chapter at U of Toronto was chartered in 1887. (You have to admit, that is pretty darn early!) That chapter closed in 1941. The oldest "still running NPC chapter" in Canada is Alpha Phi at U of Toronto. They "set up shop" in 1906 and yep, they're still going strong (actually, the Alpha Phi house is the former Delta Gamma house at U of Toronto....TRUE STORY!!). |
Any Photos of their colonization at UBC?
