Help from anyone who Ebays!

Hi Gang! I have a problem. I won a bid for a shirt from ebay on August 23 and paid that same day. Well days came and went and no shirt. I emailed the seller to make sure it wasn't lost in the mail and I was told it had already been shipped. More days came and went. I emailed again and was told there was some type of computer meltdown and the item was still there and would be shipped and would be here last week. Still no package. I kept getting the run around and filed a fraud report and left negative feedback. Well they left me negative feed back saying I didn't pay for 15 days and I never emailed blah blah blah all lies. Of course I responded saying it was all lies and filed a complaint w/ ebay saying so. I have proof (pay pal receipts and emails) that they are lying. Can anyone give me any advice for future ebay auctions to deal with this? I feel like i got a tongue lashing for doing what was right by filling out the report for a seller that didn't follow through. And my positive feedback dropped from 100% to 93.8% :( Thanks guys! :)

You may be able to go to www.squaretrade.com it is a mediating service- they may be able to help you...
as for bidding- i have only had one problem and squaretrade took care of it.

You can always post saying you paid the next day and have yet to receive item- and I believe Paypal will refund your money if you let them know that you never received item.

I love ebay, and unfortunately have had experiences similar to yours :(

One thing I've learned: Most (notice I didn't say "all") good sellers will leave you postive feedback immediately after they recieve your payment. The bad-sellers will wait to see what feedback you give them and if it's bad, will more than likely give you bad feedback just to ruin your rating.

Always, Always, Always check the feedback of a seller before you place your bid. When I ebay, I always check out their feedback, and if there is any negative feedback, I check it out to see what the negative feedback was for. (By doing this sometimes you can catch "patterns". For example, one seller I dealt with seemed to ship her items a month or two after they were already paid for. (the negatives and neutral feedback that she had all consisted of either "never shipped item" or "finally got the item after 2 months") Since she hadn't had a negative in awhile, I bought from her, and sure enough -- I waited 2 months for my item. So if you do decide to buy from someone who has a 'history' like that, know that you may have to deal with what everyone else has and that it wasn't just an isolated case.)

I hope everything works out for you and that you at least get your money back.

P.S. DO NOT EVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE BUY DVD's on EBAY!!! A guy came into our store the other day trying to sell us these DVD's and we couldn't buy them because they were all bootleg copies (with very convincing case covers). He said he bought them on eBay. A LOT of people make that a 'business' for themselves on eBay, and while it sucks that there are probably some genuine deals out there, I wouldn't take the chance. :)

Speaking as a very experience ebayer, that's not necessarily true at all. I generally don't leave feedback until I receive feedback from the buyer- this lets me know that they received the item and are happy with everything. Or, if I hear from them in an email I will gladly leave them feedback. I have received several crappy feedbacks from people who didn't bother to contact me about a problem. If it's been a month and I haven't heard from a user, I will generally leave feedback anyway b/c I do believe in leaving feedback. But sellers REALLY can get burned if they just instantly leave positives.
Feedback matters much more for sellers than buyers. When you buy something, you have the chance to look at the seller's feedback before you buy it. As a seller, I can't possibly check all of my bidder's feedback. Feedback matters fairly little if you're not selling anything.

VERY VERY TRUE. If it's suspicious, don't buy it! Check to see their feedback left as well.

That's exactly what happened to me! They didn't leave the feedback after I paid they waited until I gave them a negative one! I check on paypal but I don't know if I can get my money back b/c I didn't insure the item! This is a nightmare!

Insurance doesn't matter. If the seller doesn't have proof that it was sent, paypal should be on your side. Also, if you paid for it with a credit card (as opposed to a bank balance), call your credit card company for them to do a chargeback.

Most all of the sellers I've dealt with have left feedback for me once they recieve their payments, and then email me to make sure I got the item and it was acceptable. That's why I used the word "most" and not "all" :)

When I do decide to sell stuff, I generally do the same thing b/c I thought it was sweet that other sellers would email me to make sure I recieved the item OK.

I definatley agree that feedback does matter more to the seller than to buyers! However in some instances, some sellers will cancel your bid if they see you have X-amount of negatives or just *any* negatives at all. Some sellers will even do that if you have a feedback of '0'. But that doesn't happen with every seller.[/b][/quote]

I agree that you should check the feedback they leave for others as well!!!

Yep.. I think the 'insurance' is to insure the package through the post office (or whatever carrier you are using to have the item shipped to you)

Thanks a ton ladies! I'll call the credit card company as soon as my husband gets home from work and hopefully we can get this mess figgured out. My paypal is attached to a credit card (not a check card or bank balance) so I assume that's who I would call. Now, would the credit card company contact the seller to see if the item has ben sent? Sorry for the many ?s! :D

Okay I have a HUGE problem.

I recently bought a Louis Vuitton bag for my mom. I bought this through a personal seller a friend of mine knows-not ebay. Well my mom did not like the purse and the straps were too long. So i decided to sell it on ebay. Well I tried the first time and they said I violated the rules on counterfeit items:rolleyes: I am not sure if this is an authentic purse so I didn't put "authentic".

The next time around I tried selling it and did not mention anything about it being a Louis Vuitton, just sold it as a regular purse, but it had pictures. No one even placed a bid so I tried for a third time.

The third time I posted it as a Louis Vuitton, but I said I couldnt guarantee its authenticity.

Well ebay sent me an email again that this violated their counterfeit items, and so my account was suspended!!!

I KNOW that there are people that sell fakes on ebay. What am I doing wrong??? Plus I have seen where people say that they do not know for sure if the bag is fake or not. Why can't I do the same thing???

Please help!!
