CIRCLE OF FRIENDS!!! Such a great song! One of our sisters solo-ed this at Pref this year! Everyone, sisters and PNM's were crying!! She changed the lyrics a little so it said "In a circle of friends, we are all sisters"...but most of the rest was the same...it's still powerful! Though, it may seem too religious with out the changes made...I still fell in love with the song though!! It's by Point of Grace. Here are the lyrics:
We were made to love and be loved But the price this world demands Would cost us far too much I spent so many lonely years just trying to fit in Now I've found my place in this circle of friends Chorus In a circle of friends We have one Father In a circle of friends We share this prayer That ever orphaned soul will know And all will enter in To the shelter of this circle of friends Verse 2 If you weep, I will weep with you If you sing for joy the rest of us Will lift our voices too But no matter what you feel inside there's no need to pretend That's the way it is in this circle of friends Chorus In a circle of friends We have one Father In a circle of friends We share this prayer That we'll gather together no matter how the highway bends I will not lose this circle of friends Verse 3 Among the nations tribes and tongues we have sisters & brothers And when we meet in Heaven We will recognize each other With joy so deep, and love so sweet We'll celebrate these friends, and the life that never ends Chorus In a circle of friends We have one Father In a circle of friends We share this prayer That ever orphaned soul will know And all will enter in To the shelter of this circle of friends And of course you could put "Lean on Me" on there...that's always a good one to have when you are thinking about sisters. |
"The Rose" by Bette Midler
"True Colors" by Cyndi Lauper and I'm sure you could throw some DMB in there for good measure. "Best of What's Around" perhaps? |
