Last Minute Tips for Orientation Fair tables
Hi,
I heard yesterday that we (our interest group) is gonna have a table at the new student fair where all the new students "sign up" to all the student groups, next week. Term starts around now for us. It's cool as we're not fully recognised yet; we'll be in an area with around ten other new prospective student groups. It's great news, though really short notice. This could be make or break for us so it's vital we get new members if we're gonna get off the ground. Does anyone have any tips/advice for the table, what to do etc? :) Thank you! P.S. In case it helps shape anyone's thoughts, the interest group hopes to petition a professional fraternity @ some point but any general advice would be cool, welcome, appreciated - lots. ;) |
Make sure you have some kind of information to pass out so prospective members have something to take home with them.

Make up at least 7 or 8 names on your sign up sheet, it makes your organization look more popular.

Stand in front of your table to meet PNM's. Never sit behind it. Have materials to hand out and have photo albums around for them to look through. Make a banner for the fron tof your table if you dont alreadyhave a flag to use. Dress profesional and have an event planned for that evening that you can invite the PNM's you meet to go out too. Follow up the blue chip PNM's with a personal visit if they live on campus. Good luck. Info tables are what gave us our base and took our chapter from 12 guys to the nearly 80 they are at now.
