What do Sisters Want?
I was reading Liar's Game by Eric Jerome Dickey and me and another guy got into an argument about what sisters want. I stated that what a sister wants depends on what part of her life she is in. For example the sister in the book was at a point in her life where she needed a man to support her and her running the street days were not needed any more. Most women are the same during points of their life they need a man that is an "adventure" other times they need a "stable" man. Other times who knows. The brother argued that sisters will usually run back to the dangerous man they had in their life, like the sister in Omar Tyree's Flyy Girl and For The Love Of Money and it is impossible to trust a sister. So women let a Bro know.......is it what point of your life you are in or are you always gonna run back to the dangerous man (I don't say thug because most thugs are not dangerous and they pretend to be dangerous).

sphinxpoet,
Depending upon who you speak with and (exactly as you stated) what stage of life the sister is in, you will get all types of answers to this question. Personally, I have reached a point in my life where I am intersted in a man who can add to my life (not make my life). I realize that I need a man to bring things to the table that can enhance me and my life (not make me and my life). For example, I have completed an undergraduate degree, I have worked for the school system for 3 years, and presently, I started grad school full time. I do not need a man that cannot help me with study techniques, help me come up with a better budget plan, or help encourage me through graduate school. I'm not interested in incorporating a "dangerous" brother in my life. I encounter enough danger by just walking in the city, riding in my car, or catching a weekend flight from state to state. The last thing I need is danger up close and personal in a relationship. |
