The same thing happened to my cousin when he moved to Atlanta from Lubbock. He got there in the middle of a freak spring snow storm. I think it turned him against the whole state of Georgia. That cowboy lasted 6 months in Atlanta and then came back to Texas.

WELCOME to the Midwest! :D

Watch for tornados. Hopefully you're too far north for tornado alley.

Hey Kitso - My weatherbug says its 75 degrees outside. The best part of this ordeal is when its November and theres 2 feet of snow on the ground up there and its 80 here. :)

It wont be the same w/out ya down here. I guess APhi and I will have to hold down the fort at Flying Saucer for ya.

MereMere21 09-18-2003 10:07 AM

My weatherbug was saying 75 too :) we are in that great two week period we have every fall and every spring of absolute GORGEOUS weather!

why would you leave Texas anyway???? especially for SNOW! ack!

Kristin AGD 09-18-2003 10:36 AM

Just wait Kitso. Next July & August you can rub the weather up there in our faces while we sit in Texas and melt. :)

(Except on any Saturday we might be at the river ;) )

Um, hate to burst anyone's bubble, but I was in Rapid City in July/August and it was about 98 degrees (average daytime). Humidity wasn't too bad, though.

This snow is probably abnormal -- although strange things do happen in the high plains and mountains. It's already snowed several times in the Colorado Mountains -- which is good because we need the water.

The West can be pretty strange.

I am so jealous you got snow! I love snow and I refuse to move to anywhere I won't have a real winter. If I could just find somewhere where it snowed and I could drink sweet tea, I would have a very happy life. :)

Kevlar281 09-18-2003 11:58 AM

Today will be 82 degrees with a feels like of 92 degrees.

Yesterday, in three hours, went from 80+, blue sky, to thunder, rain, lightning, and then some snow/sleet flurries, complete with more lightning.

Gotta love the fall here in Colorado....

yeah but there is nothing like sitting on your porch with a big ol' Texas Margarita in the summer sun while Pat Green is on the radio......ahhhh good times

See Texas is strange - we have hurricanes in Houston and Galveston, flooding there as well.....then humid muggy heat in College Station - complete with huge bugs - then you go 3 hours north to Dallas and you have ice storms/snow storms out of nowhere! (IE: Winter Storm 2003 that shut down the city!) Not to mention Lubbock where you have show drifts. I think Austin is pretty temperate if you can handle the heat.

Thats why you can never move! even if you do, it sucks you back in. :D
