DG mom pin question
I'm thinking about getting my mom the Delta Gamma mom pin...but I gots some questions first!
If you have seen one in person, are they nice looking? Can you tell the difference between GK and 10K? And on the pic of one here http://www.burrpatt.com/DeltaGammaOf...39;s%20Pin.jpg what are the three dark marks on the bottom of the pin? LITB! |
Mold? LOL
I think that is just weird shine from the photo. They are gold all around (at least they look that way in the Burr Patterson and Auld pamphlet). To me, they "suggest" the Pi Alpha pin, which I loved with its beautiful simplicity. I think you should get her one! Oh, and GK means Gold Klad. There is a scientific explanation, but I don't know what it is. I'm sure that if you called Burr Patterson and Auld at (800)422-4348 , they would be happy to explain to you what "Gold Klad" is (I think it's some kind of an amalgam) I think in terms of price, it would go GK as the cheapest, then 10K, then 14K (not sure where White Gold would fit in...probably would be the most expensive of all, if it is even available for that particular pin) You can get in touch with Carol Green at DG EO...she is the jewellery lady and you can order one from her. |
I have a question too...
Can you give your mom a DG Mom pin if she is in another sorority? I wasn't planning on giving her one, but I was thinking about that and didn't know if there was a rule. Plus, she might not want to wear it or something. What do you think? |

I don't see why not, but I am not the official spokesperson here, so please don't take my word as THE word. Plus, she might not want to wear it or something. What do you think? Hmmm...it's hard to say. I know for me, if my (future) daughter went AXiD and got me a "AXiD Mom's pin" (which I know exists), I would be proud to wear it. But that's just me. (and if some person was all, "Why are you wearing that? You're a DG", I would explain its significance and if they didn't get it...well, what can you do? lol Why don't you give Carol at EO a call? She should know the answers...... |

Hmmm...I think I may get her one. I'm guessing they are a little bigger than the Pi Alpha pin, correct?
I hope she'd wear it. She's not in a sorority, so we wouldn't have that issue. |

Just to let you all know...
We did an actual Mother Pinning ceremony last year. :) It was very nice and simple, gave her a rose and yada yada ...but to answer your questions, the pin itself is a little bit bigger than the pi alpha pin, but still smaller than our badge. There are no marks on the rim or anything, it is a gold trim all the way around. And if I remember correctly, you can only get it in gold, not white gold, but in the GK, 10k, and so on. Knowing my mother may only wear it once or twice a year, I saved my money and got her the gold klad one. :) ....and she is more than welcome to wear it if she is in another sorority. :) Any other questions, send them my way! - Colleen Eta Eta |
I ordered the Mom's Pin for my momma today!
She is also the brand new treasurer for our Parent's Club, so now she'll have somewhere to wear it! |
