Surprise Weddings
 

She embarrassingly asks: "Did anyone happen to watch the Fox show last night, 'Surprise Weddings?'" If so, what'd ya think?

I saw it last night. I couldn't believe that people will go through SO much to get their mates to marry them. Can you IMAGINE if someone told you "honey I am going to get a makeover" and then when you get there, they bring you out on NATIONAL Television, and say SURPRISE welcome to your wedding? I mean to top it off these females were dressed in their WEDDING gowns, the guys only had a chance to make ONE phone call to help them make their decision. AND THEY ONLY HAD 30 SECONDS TO DO IT!!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif I thought the show was nice, but at the same time, I couldn't IMAGINE putting my sweetie through that. I would NEVER force my honey to make a LIFE time commitment on National TV in 30 seconds. That's just my HO

Hello Ladies:

I just had to add my two cents to this topic. I watched the show and I felt it was unfair for these women to put these men on the spot like that. I mean how do you know if he is marrying you because he wants to or he just does not want to cause either of you any embarrassment on national t.v.?

I watched the show as well. I agree with DableST_1 and Advocate. The 30 second phone call was a joke! I heard one guy refer to it as his "lifeline". The guy that called his girlfriend's mother was the only one who I thought would go through with it. I think the other men did it so their girlfriends would not be embarrassed. So, I was surprised by the outcome.

Also, do you remember the host saying "the marriage would not be legal until the marriage license is signed"? How many want to bet that a few of them didn't sign the license but went through with the acutal ceremony so that their girlfriends would not be embarrased and humiliated in front of thousands of people.

I wish they can do an update, just so we can see how many actually went through with it!!

If I can get a free trip out of it I would tell my girl prior to the show what was happening. Have her say yes even though we are not ready to marry, take the honeymoon, if provided and enjoy the week free vacation.
Of course, we would not sign any legal documentation - LOL
