Starting a chapter

I am a student in a college where we have no sororities and one fraternity.
I have dreamed of being an AKA since the age of 12 and I would like to start a chapter at my school.
If anyone can offer me a little help I would definitely appreciate it.
My e-mail address is @hotmail.com if you have any advice to lend me.
Thank You..(in advance)
La Reina

Email me. Tell me where you goto school. You may have a "city wide" chapter in your city and the members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. haven't made it over to your location, yet.

Contact the graduate chapter in your school's area. You will need their approval to be initiated, their help in accessing the sorority's resources and/or recruiting other like-minded souls, and their assistance in chartering an undergraduate campus-based or city-wide chapter.

I too am interested in starting a chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. at my school. I would love any advice from current members. We (interest group) have already contacted the local graduate chapter, began our initial paper work(transcripts, interest forms, etc.), and are scheduled to have a meeting in January. I know there is a lot of work involved and I would just like any advice on where to begin. Thank you all for any help, and I really enjoy the positive feel of this board :)
I hope in this January meeting the topic of discussion will be discretion.

I don't suspect this thread will be long in existence, but at least it was pulled up via a search. Mods, I had to get my comment in before it's locked.:p
