Relay Cell Phone call
Uhh..... I answered my cell phone which said incoming call and no caller id number cuz some of my friends' cell phones show up blocked. There was an operator on the phone and said something about a relay phone call. I kept say huh? I've never had one of those. She explained that it was someone typing on one line, and she was reading me what they said and I talk when ready. I was like ummm ok.
The person on the other end said something about having sex. I was like uhhhhh yeah hang up dude cuz I don't know who that is. So hang up it was. Has anyone ever received a relay call? I'm a lil surprised that I received this on my cell phone. How do u even do a relay call? |

Its for peopel who are hearing impared. Its that TDYY thing or whatever. They type into a machine and it goes to an opertator who translates and then types what you say.
My friend Andrea's b/f is deaf and was callign to ask her out on a date and she kept hanging up thinking it was a tellemarketer. lol. |
The only junk I get on my cell is text msgs in Spanish. And at the 1800 number NO ONE speaks English? Freaks.

I've had one of those relay calls. I used to date a guy who's deaf and I could hear him speaking, and the operator would type whatever I said to him on his end.

It'd be normal if I knew anyone who was hearing impaired, but I don't. I'm kinda creeped out, especially since they said "had sex".

When I work for Uhaul in AZ I used to get relay calls like every day. So I am very used to them.
