Too late?

Hello to the Ladies of AKA and sisterfriends! This is my first time here =o)
I'm very interested in becoming a member AKA Inc. although at my partciular school, it is now almost mid-October and I have not heard of any activities in which AKA has hosted (socials) that I can meet other Ladies. Again being mid-October, have I missed "rush". Please excuse me if I seem impatient, just concerned. Also, I just recently began community service work. Although I am "bright eyes and bushy tailed" about becoming more involved in my chapter and possibly "taking the big step", in your greatly appreciated opinions--should I wait to next semester?
Thanks so much

I hate to sound rude...but what do you mean by "becoming more involved in My chapter".

All chapters are different some chapters have Fall/or Spring Rush...How are we suppose to know if the chapter at your school had rush. Like I said earlier I am not trying to sound rude....we can't tell you if you are ready to submit...is AKA in your heart? Have you done enough research on our beloved sorority? Do you think you have what it takes to be an Alpha Kappa Alpha woman? Are you ready to make AKA a lifetime commitment? Are you at a time in your life when AKA will be one of your top priorities?

Well whatever you decide to do....I wish you the best of luck.

Is it to late in the semester for a chapter to have a rush now? I heard that everything had to be completed by 30 days before finals.

Where do you get your information?

Interested_Cinna, they may have elected not to have a fall rush.

Just like the Sorors said..."Keep your eyes open" a lot of chapters don't host fall rush. Just make sure you are ready when the time comes.

Good Luck!

Thank you all for your help. ANYDAYNOW, when I stated "MY Chapter" I simply meant the chapter on MY campus. No disrespect intended. And YES to all of your questions, I have researched and plan to do more of course. And just as you said, I'm confused because I'am not sure if the Ladies of my campus are recruiting. I didn't think that AKA would shout from the banisters about joining their organization. I do not know if I should approach a Lady and ask without over stepping my boundaries. For last semester, I have asked a few Ladies and their common answer was "keep your eyes open, there will be something", so I respected that advice and I guess that is what I will do this semester. Thanks again.

I have known chapters to have intake as late as November here in NYC. But again you must ask the ladies of the chapter when do they plan to have rush...

You would really want to do your research on the chapter and its members. Do you know any members in that chapter? If you already know the members, then you would have been informed of all their activities...Eyes and ears are only part of it, you would really want to be in the "know"... If you need to ask, then you ought to reconsider your line of questioning...
