I was all hyped up to respond to your post on the Greek Life board, but you deleted it so fast. The last time this topic was discussed on Kazodiass, it got VERY ugly. I must admit, I got kinda ugly too. However, Kazo doesn't have moderators to regulate the posts and keep everyone in check.

Midwestdiva must have seen the post I put up last night on the greek life board. I posted then five minutes later I deleted. She probably saw that I was an AKA from other posts and thought that she could "find me" here. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif

Anyway I posted yesterday to ask two questions but deleted because I thought that the topic might get ugly.

I asked if anyone had stories of "greek profiling", like if they hear that you are an AKA then you must.... or assume that all Kapppas are....

The other question was about the book Our Kind of People. Somewhere in the book he basically says that many "elite" blacks or blacks in the know about greekdom think that any org founded after Delta is a joke. Then I said that I had heard jokes at step shows or between friends but I did not think that the issue was that big. Then I thought about a Zeta and SGRho that I know who both said that they (the orgs) were essentially ignored on their yard. That made me think that maybe people DO believe that, so I posted.

Then I thought that people would complain that I was just trying to start trouble so I deleted.

Thats the sad reality. People are so touchy today that they believe that what should be called a "sensitive subject" is incorrectly labeled as a person attack. And, instead of answering the question at hand, people would rather rant and rave about who's hating on whom.

As you know, the debate on KAZO was really silly, with only a few bright spots where a real debate/convo/discuss when on.

Its sad that your post had to go. But I agree with your decision since most people haven't read the book, and therefore wouldn't be able to address the issue correctly.
