Little Sisters
 

I just found out who my Little Sis is! :D I'm so excited & I can't wait to spoil her rotten! I've been collecting things for two years, so it's just a matter of getting it organized for the different days, and the only thing I have left to buy is a paddle. I have shirts, bunnies, strawberry everything, crown stuff, and lots of wooden items I've painted myself.

Big/Lil Week starts on the 15th. My only problem is that perhaps I have too MUCH stuff to give her, and some other girls may not get as much from their bigs. I may end up asking other old members if they need any donations, cuz I have multiples of some things.

Any suggestions?

I think asking other sisters if they need things is a very nice idea! If you think you'd like to give them to your little, though, then maybe after the revealing, you could give them to her privately? Then the other girls won't feel like they're getting less?

A suggestion for giving them after the revealing is to still leave them as surprises and what not...I mean leave them in her room when she is at class or something...or get someone to deliver them...then she gets to feel extra special, but the other new members wont feel like their big isnt doing things for them cause they arent as likely to directly see it....

I think helping out other sisters is a great idea also! Trying to find cute and unique gifts for little sisters can be a little stressful for those who are not so creative.

Also keep in mind that one day you will have a grand little to shower with gifts. You may want to keep saving for her also.

You can also save some stuff and give them to her for initiation.

I actually ran into my little at Target today so thankfully I wasn't buying anything for her then because she would have seen it in my cart.

The only thing I can't seem to find anywhere is stuffed animal lambs or anything with lambs on it. That's our family mascot, and I only have a few itty bitty lamb things.

I'm going to ask one of the old members at meeting if she wants the Bugs Bunny slippers I was going to give my little, because they are too small for my little but will fit her little perfectly.

I'm not too worried about saving stuff for a grand little because most grand bigs in our chapter don't buy stuff for grand littles, but I might save a few things just in case.

The lamb Beanie Baby is absolutely precious! So soft:)

You girls are funny. Can I guess that Zetaluvbunny, that you don't know her too well or not for long time anyway? But still love her already b/c she is your little sis. It doesn't make sense, but I love it anyway. Have fun with your little I'm sure she'll turn out to be a great friend and you will be someone she will always love, respect and admire. :cool:

You're right on the money. I haven't know her for very long, but at new member retreat we talked all afternoon while on one of the pontoon boats. She's a really sweet girl but I've refrained from acting *too* excited to see her at events this week, because I don't want her to have any clue that it's me. ;) She may think I'm not even taking a little since this is my third year. Teehee.

How sad is this? - I was even thinking of baking her a bunny-shaped (yes, I have this cake pan!:rolleyes: ) carrot cake, but I dunno if she likes carrot cake or not.

Gosh, it's been so long since I posted but this thread caught my eye. Our big/lil reveal is fri the 18th and I can't wait!! I'm sooo excited, but I'm having a ton of trouble deciding who to vote for for my big. I've really gotten to know a bunch of actives that I would love to have and I don't know how to choose!

It hink it's great that you have so much stuff to give her, and I agree that giving her the extra stuff without the other girls knowing is best. It's nice to see you are so concientious about that :)

pink kittie - I wouldn't worry too much, you will probably end up with the person with whom you are the best match. I don't know how you all choose your bigs/littles, but if you are allowed to choose more than one, put them in order of the person you think you'll be the closest to as friends. ;)

Update, everyone: I set out all her stuff last night & our chapter room looked like awesome, woohoo! Last night was "Zetalicious strawberry stuff", so the room was covered in strawberry EVERYTHING. All of us big sisters are setting out chocolate-covered strawberries this afternoon.

I also gave some bunny slippers that wouldn't fit my little anyhow to another girl for her little. Lots of us shared stuff with one another when a particular person didn't have certain things - especially things like balloons, tape, paint pens, poster board, and ribbon lol.

The littles are allowed in the room from 5-8:30pm only, so after that we'll start decorating for tomorrow. I can't wait to set out the stuff for tomorrow - BUNNIES!!! It will truly look like Easter in there on Tuesday. I don't think my little has any clue (that I'm her big), and I hope she doesn't figure it out till the revealing.
