Young people and bowling

What is it with the 18-25 age category and bowling? What is sooooooo cool about it? Dang, in my area it is as common as going out for a beer or cup of coffee. (just went bowling twice within one weekend and like a 100 *a little exaggaration* times within the last year)

i dont think bowling is all that great. but it is fun every once in awhile

why do you say "young people" like you are some mature adult...aren't you a 12 year old boy, pretending to be a girl?

you suck. :p

Bowling's awesome! It's the only sport that you can get better at as you consume alcohol!!

Seriously, we used to bowl a couple games every saturday afternoon and drink white russians before heading out to bars or parties. It's great cuz you can be competive(read: talk crap to each other, make bets, taunt the losers etc) and get drunk and not get all sweaty or nasty before you go out.

Kitso
KS 361 times you should never bowl with Hootie, she's a freakin hustler

We go to bowl for the $2 pitchers of beer and photo ops of me throwing the ball backwards!!

That's what I say about darts D....at least with darts you don't have to wear those ugly ass shoes.

Why people feel the need to play a sport while drinking puzzles me. If you can't respect drinking for the sport it is, go home and watch the GAC channel or something.

I love bowling! :D

And given the activities these young people COULD be doing, this is rather harmless, dontcha think?

I'm glad they've embraced a nice, healthy, wholesome pasttime instead of, let's say, shooting heroin!

Granted, there is beer involved, but hey, they're still in a safe environment while drinking it...

Bully for them!:D :D

Dionysus, you live in Manhattan, right? What else is there to do there?:p

I love bowling. There's just something about it. I remember getting my first turkey. Now that was exciting.

KillarneyRose 09-08-2003 02:44 PM

I think bowling may be one of those things that's so "out", it's "in". Like Hawaiian shirts, or Elvis on black velvet paintings or eyeglasses with thick, black, plastic frames. It's someone's way of saying, "I am so cool that I can do this and STILL be cool!" At least IMO! :)

What's the word I'm looking for? Kitchy or something like that.

I can't stand regular bowling.

Cosmic bowling and a few pitchers of beer are more my forte.

The delta tau delta chapter at my school goes bowling every monday at the local bowling alley because its like 5 dollars all you can bowl night. I will say they are a little *too* obsessive about it. They've had recruitment and mixer events there too.

I dated a DTD and that was actually one of the first times we hung out (wouldnt really call it the first date). Cant say it did much as far as getting to know each other without the brothers giving him a hard time about bringing a girl. Plus I'm horrible at bowling so I had an awful time.
