My first school day after bid day....
Oh gosh! I am gushing from excitement! Today was the first school day after recruitment...and all the chapters wore their Bid Day shirts... Greekdom is great! LOL
My day started out with me going to my internship for Congressman Marsha Blackburn... she's a CHi-O alum!!!! I made sure everybody in the office knew that I had become a pledge.. and one of the ladies said that she would let me send Marsha a personal fax tomorrow! I am so excited to let her know! (btw, I work in Marsha's district office while she is up in D.C.). The only bad thing about today was that my schedule didn't allow me to see all my new sisters!!!! I have a three hour Ethics seminar today... and I missed hanging out with everybody. :( Don't worry, though... I will track down my lovely new sisters and make up for lost time!!!! |
Awe! That brings back memories. I used to have classes through lunch time and so I didn't get to see a lot of my sisters up at our table in the student center. But then I'd go sit up there later and get to talk with the Theta Chi's so it was all good ;)
P.S. What was your Bid Day Theme or Slogan? Did yall have one? Mine was "Everyone has their day in the sun. Some just last longer than others." |
hmm... that's a good question, Hootie..
I don't know if we had a "theme" but our shirts said: There are only two kinds of girls... Chi Omegas... and girls that wish they were!
I love it!!!! I told my sisters that I use to be one of the wanna-be girls wishing to be an owl... and now I am one!!! Yeah, some teary eyes all over the room on that comment! LOL :) Sigh... it has only been a few days and it seems as though my entire life has changed! It's quite funny in my family... my mother has no concept of how important greeklife can be to people (she's from the Philippines and I don't think they have very many fraternities)... but my dad is crazy supportive of greeklife!!!! He wants to send the chapter a huge gift to thank them for giving me a home and taking care of me... but, I talked him out of it because I don't think that is a common thing to do here... I mean, we may be a southern school... but we aren't OLD southern, you know? No "recruitment coaches", prom dresses to pref, or huge donations to of furniture to houses!!! LOL Plus, I don't want him to because it will make me look like a dork!! I promise to keep everybody updated on my new member-ship... I am excited to gain all the wisdom and friendship Chi Omega will give me! |
Virginia ROCKS!!!!!!
Okay - tag - the ChiO board is it!
Sorry ladies - I had to squeeze in here real quick and give a shout out to Virginia (baby hootie). We go to school at Austin Peay together. I basically gotta say that y'all are just sooooooooo dang lucky to get this girl as a sister! I'm a "displaced Alpha Gam" with no chapter here. But - dang if I had a chapter I would have snapped her up in half a heartbeat!!!!! So I'm JEALOUS! Congrats Virginia and congrats to the Chi O's for getting such an unbelievably great sister! Panhellenic Love, Marissa http://www.bgsu.edu/studentlife/gree...20squirrel.gif http://www.marietta.edu/~chiomega/chioowl.gif |
Oh! You make me blush!!!!
Thank you so much Marissa! Everybody, Marissa can attest to the fact that like... 99% of APSU didn't think I was greekmaterial... but, My sisters gave me a chance and gave me a home! LOL Hopefully, all you GCers will get to meet more Austin Peay Greeks (after Marissa and I badger them to register!!) ;)
|
That's so cool that you two know each other at school and can talk on here! Hey Baby, what other sororities are on your campus? Just curious! And how many pledge sisters do you have?
|
Howdy, ya'll!
We have three NPCs on campus: ADPi, Chi-O, Alpha Sigma Alpha.
We also 5 IFCs: Sigma Phi Epsilon, Sigma Chi, Alpha Gamma Rho, Kappa Sigma, Pi Kappa Alpha. And, we have 18 girls in our pledge class! I love them all so much! Some of them are super shy, though... I'll have to fix that! LOL |
well - three and a half NPC's if you count the two displaced Alpha Gam's at APSU!!!!!!!
I soooooooooooo wanna colonize!!!!! Can ya tell? marissa |
oops!
Oh goodness! How could I forget the Alpha Gam girls!? In fact, I think we have quite a few "displaced" greeks on our campus... some SAE, a Zeta or two... and at least one PhiMu.
