Akron DG Recruitment!!
 

Well Ladies....the fun is just about to begin! We had Sorority Forum tonight in the Student Union and we had 93 women show up!!!! That is a lot for our campus and I'm really excited! As of tonight we had 140 women signed up for recruitment so even if we 50 of them drop out, we'd still have a quota of like 16! Last year it was 15, the year before was 13 so.....the better quota is, the less we have to COB after formal recruitment. We need 18 women to hit total and it is totally feasable....YAY! Keep your fingers crossed and I'll keep ya posted! Saturday is House Tours and then the madness starts on Tuesday! Pref and Bid Day is next Saturday so hopefully we'll be bringing home 18 new Pi Alphas that night!!! :D

we did a mock recruitment with all 5 chapter and then gave each chapter feeback on how they did. 4 girls from our chapter acted like pnms and i was one of them. the two houses that i went to for the "parties" did a good job and for the most part knew what they were doing...

but i just want to say that DG rocks! i couldnt wait to get back to MY house and be with MY sisters! even being at another house for just an hour or so made me miss my sisters!!

Andrea - *snaps* to you for getting recruitment put all together!! you are doing a great job!! next week is going to ROCK and i cant wait to get new pi alphas and to get laurie ann!! (hint hint)

Alright.....heres the update for today!

We had house tours today from 12-2. There were 5 rounds with about 12-15 women in each round meaning that about 70 girls went through house tours today! That is awesome for Akron.

I was talking to two of the Rho Gams while we were in the Mock Recruitment with PHC and we were saying how excited the girls are and how it seems as if most of them are going to stay! WOW I can't wait!

I already have a rush crush! AHHHH!!! Her name is Stephanie and she went to my rival high school. I'm not even actively recruiting but I love her! But she's got many many many greek influences.....she's a legacy to ADPi, a legacy to KKG, and her cousin is a Sigma Nu who is married to an Alpha Phi. (Just a side note....the sororities on campus are ADPi, KKG, AGD, A-Phi, and DG). We talked for a good 20 minutes or so at Sorority Forum on Thursday night and she was here today. I really want her to go DG....so I'm crossing my fingers!!!

I have 3 more days! OH MY GOSH!!! I've got the night off tonight so I'm taking advantage of it and relaxing a bit and then working on more stuff tomorrow all day! :D

Tonight is the start of it all!! Unity parties start at 5 tonight!! Wish Eta Luck!! I am getting excited!! I can't wait to find my rush crush!! hehe!! And I can't wait to bring home new sisters AND our rho gams on saturday!!

Alright.....first round is over! we have 99 women signed up for recruitment.

Parties went great today. They were only 30 minutes long but we met some fabulous women with a lot of outstanding GPAs!! We only cut 3 because of severe grade risks...we'll cut the rest tonight that do not meet our grade requirements and for any other reasons to invite them back on Friday for Philanthropy.

The women here are doing wonderfully! A little nervous but that is to be expected! Our Alum are wonderful, our Alum Treasurer bought us all pizza last night after the parties and is bring salad for us tonight. They're taking beautiful care of us and we totally appreciate it!

Tonight starts at 5pm and we have 5 more rounds again so I'll either update later tonight or tomorrow since we have a day off! YAY! Can't wait till Saturday! :D

Ok....well the second round of parties are over....they seemed to go great! We had some great chemistry in the room with a bunch of the women coming through. I'm hearing some great things from some different sources so I can't wait to see who accepted invitations back to our house tomorrow/tonight (really) for philanthropy parties!

Alright......here is the results of Akron's recruitment......

We pledged 12 wonderful new members and are now 5 away from chapter total on campus (which is 65). We did not make quota, but I am totally satisfied with the women that we did get and it totally proves that its quality over quantity!!! We got our new members and went back to the house for pictures and then went to the Akron/Eastern Michigan football game as a chapter! We got to show off our new girls and have some fun!

The other chapters did fairly well....ADPi and AGD both hit quota (15), APhi got 14, and KKG got 9. We still have some great women that want to go through COBs so we're hoping by the end of the week we'll be at total. Getting 5 more great girls shouldn't be soo difficult.

I can't believe its all over! The lei ceremony was beautiful and the leis were gorgeous!! But since I only got about 12 hours of sleep through the whole week, I need to go to bed. I was up till 430 this morning decorating for Pref. :eek:
