Are Gays at your school discriminated against?

Hello to everyone, first and foremost. I'm a new GC member and I just wanted to extend a greeting.

I'm a dancer for my school's basketball dance team and a guy (who happens to be gay) made the team this year. My question is, do you think the students will give him a hard time (I attend a HBCU) or do you think they will be mature enough to accept him. He's a phenominal dancer, I just don't want him to be criticized.

It depends.....he has a hard road ahead of him as an openly gay man in the first place.

If he knows how to carry himself in various situations, it might make a world of difference. It helps to have a positive attitude in the first place, and if he doesn't have one...well, it won't be as easy.

There are gays in the open and in the closet at my school. But our SGA president is openly gay and doesn't give a ish if people like it or not. I guess the population doesn't care, because this is his second term. And he's a dancer too (or he coaches the girls, one of the two).
