I am a little uneasy with this whole Reparations thing. Not to say that we, African Americans, have not experienced struggle, but that I don't know that it will solve any problems. I almost feel like if we are given reparations, then society can look to African Americans and say, "ok, now we're equal." And, to be honest, I don't believe that's true. So, I'm wondering if giving Reparations will give society an out and a way to sort of feel they have made up for any wrong doings. But it does nothing for the continued wrongdoings and the continued oppression. We need continued efforts, not just a one time only thing. Now, I could be completely wrong, and maybe it is a beginning, but can anyone else shed another view for me.. I'm just not seeing the other side. Someone please shed some more light on me, because I don't really know all the details about this situation.
