Ok, the first night of rush was last night. I will give you the scoop on last night now, and tell you about tonight tomorrow morning

The survivor house was very big. They seemed to be excited, but not as much as some others. There were no pauses in the conversations, but we did not talk about anything but the basic information. I talked to about 4 different girls. I know this house is very strong, but I am not sure I fit in here.

The bachelor house is one of my favorites on the first night. They were all very excited, and I had very good conversations. Their cheer was good and they all introduced themselves. I talked to several different people, and felt comfortable there

The big brother house was another one of my favorites. They seemed very down to earth, and their sorority participated in lots of things that I like to do. They seemed very happy to have us there.

The real world house was a lot more mellow. They actually had a theme for the night that I noticed. They were all very nice women, but I am not sure they are quite what I am looking for.

Overall it was a great night. There are two houses that I really like, but I am not ruling any of them out. A little over 100 girls went though recruitment this year, which they said was about average. We do not have invites yet, we still have one more open round.

a great beginning...now here's to the next step.

I wonder if you like reality TV shows... ;)

2nd night
 

I loved this night, it was so much fun! We went in the same order again but the parties were 40 min long

The bachelor house was great! I really love it here. They are all so excited and did a great cheer. I had great conversations and people that a met last night came by to say hi.

I felt like I fit in even less at the survivor house tonight, but it just may have been the people I talked too. I talked to the same two people as I did the night before. I hope I get to meet more people here before I make my decision. This is a very strong chapter but they seemed a little unprepared for rush, they were the most disorganized. I am still unsure about them.

The real world house again was quieter, I am not sure if I like that about them. I feel like I have a lot in common with everyone I talk to, but their lack of enthusiasm scares me.

I like the big brother house even more tonight! They definitely did the most preparation and I loved the fact that they did a skit to present the information instead of just talking, even though it was not skit night. They seem like they put the most into rush and I loved talking to them.

I still love two houses more than the other two. I can not decide which one I like more out of my top two, and which one I would drop out of my bottom two. I am really excited though, I love recruitment! We pick up invites tomorrow morning at 930, unless we get a call. We can select three if we get invited back to all of them.

Hey Erica!

I would say DON"T worry about that at ALL! If it is where you belong it'll be the best thing in the world once you start hanigng out with the sisters after bid day when you can all be yourselves.

There are tons of houses who are great at putting on an act or a show for rush but then after getting in, its not what you thought it was.

So if you feel like you have alot in common with those girls, ask yourself if these are the girls you can see holding your hand when you're in tough times, if these are the girls who you can see yourself in grubby PJs watching reality shows with, and if these are the girls you can see yourself doing midnite slurpee runs.

i was really hesitant about joining my chapter coz I was also wary of the lack of enthusiasm. The girls came across a bit too quiet and calm. Sadly, I thought "I don't think these girls will ever go out and party". (the STUPIDEST reason to not want a house.) Especially since i had my heart set on another house where the girls were all done up and gorgeous and peppy, my house paled in comparison at the time. I had actually dropped out of rush after my dream house cut me but went back to COB at my chapter and its the best thing that could have happened to me.

At the time i was worried that i'd never have a social life & would be stuck studying all the time but I'm glad I am where I am. If i didn't join my house, I wouldn't have met the girls who are closest and dearest to my heart. These girls have helped me become who i was meant to be.

excellent advice!

too many PNMs worry about superficial things about a house. it's more important to look at the house as a whole made up of it's individual parts, not their skits or enthusiasm.

Best of luck for tomorrow....find the house that, as Designergal3 said, you can picture yourself in your pajamas watching the newest reality show together. I know that it's out there for you!

first...think no phone calls
...second think about six months from now, pjs and popcorn, 6 a.m. with no makeup, boyfriend breakup and all that, who will hand you the tissue -- and you'll find where you belong.

ok so i'm having a stupid moment...i'm not getting this...do you mean like the phone call saying you got cut or no phone calls from sisters?

Ditto what Designergal3 said a few posts back about the ladies putting on skits. Rush can be a stressful time for both sides especially if there are 5-10 parties/day or night. So both sides can lack a little enthusiam and appear to look tired at the end of the night.

Bottom line is do you feel comfortable with that house and how do the women relate to each other even though the maybe a little tired. Don't get too caught up in skits.

Ok I am posting the last few days worth of stuff, because the computers have been down.

Saterday: I was so nervous, but I got invited back to all four houses! It was a hard decision, but I decided to drop real world house. It was not because they were more quite and researved, I just did not think I clicked there. I also wanted to participate in intramurals with a sorority, and they did not participate in them very often. It was a really hard decision because I liked things about each of the four. Tonight is theme night and tomorrow we have to narrow it down to two. :eek:
