Just wondering Nibbz, but are you the type of person who goes to someone's house for a dinner party and then complains about everything from the food to the host's taste in furniture to the brand of toilet tissue in the powder room? That's the level of manners you are displaying by barging into the Alpha Xi Delta forum and posting what you did. You might want to consider deleting this post because anyone who reads it who knows your GLO affiliation might get the idea that all Tri Sigmas are rude and I know that's not true. |
Well said Killarneyrose! Thanks for being the one to say it!

I just wanted to say thank you to Killarneyrose, too!

Alpha Chapter
HI Ladies,
first of all, I think your badge is one of the most lovely out there, I was a panhel delegate and I thumbed through all the pictures of the badges and the quill is just exquisite (I'm partial to my arrow as well ;) ) I know some of you have seen my posts on the Phi Mu threads, but I just wanted to open it up for all the AXD ladies... I am from Knox College and Knox is considering a 3rd sorority...you know what that means....possible Alpha chapter re-establishment :) As I stated on the PM thread, I would LOVE to see a chapter come to our campus with a history already established. That would mean reviving AXD, Phi Mu, or Delta Zeta. Knox's incoming 1st year class is the largest in over 25 years which bodes well for increasing interest in the women's greek system, and with both Tri Delta and PiPhi having a quota of only 50 a piece, spaces are going to become rapidly more difficult to find. I would urge you to contact Knox, especialy if you have personal connections to your nationals, and argue AXDs case for coming back to campus. Out of the three dormant sororities on campus, Phi Mu and AXD were around the longest, DZ not having survived as long. Please note, bringing a 3rd chapter on campus will probably not occur for 3-4 years as DDD and PBP must maintain constant/high retention numbers with the new quota (it was previously 55). Thanks for listenin'! Greek Love, Maggie |
Lol, it doesn't matter if it's 3 years or 30....if you put "Knox College" and "expansion" in the same sentence, our ears perk up!
I'm sure the ladies at Headquarters have a much better understanding of the situation than I would, and they would probably have already spoken w/ the proper contacts before I would ever hear about it! I just got excited and wanted to share my excitement w/ everyone else. :D Please keep us updated...of course expansion is always good and there are 24 wonderful groups for your campus to choose from. Thanks for the info! |
I'm so glad you did, I should have realized that it was a huge deal for you ladies. I know if Monmouth College's Alpha chapter wasnt active, our ears would perk too! Havent heard back from the guy yet, but when I do, I'll let you ladies know what he says in terms of the 3rd sorority.
And hey, this is exciting for me too :) I was VERY excited when actual talk began on the prospect of a 3rd sorority during panhel meetings w/ the advisor. If you have any questions for me, feel free to pm or IM me :) -Maggie |
Just got an e-mail newletter from Headquarters which
has the following: Fall 2004 Colonizations Two new colonies will take shape this fall at Greensboro College (North Carolina) and St. Norbert's College (Wisconsin). There is a great need for local alumnae who are willing to assist these colonies in developing. If you are interested in pursuing volunteer opportunities with either of these colonies, please complete an Extension Cord and send it to the Extension/Marketing Coordinator at headquarters. So looks like the information that was posted here on Greek chat was correct. Yippe for us!!!! |
The following news item was posted on the Fraternity's web site...
8/25/2004 - Alpha Xi Delta is Growing Again In September 2004 Greensboro College in Greensboro, North Carolina will welcome Alpha Xi Delta as the campuses first national sorority. We are pleased at the invitation to expand our sisterhood to this campus and the growing Greek system. Plans are currently underway for the September colonization. We are thrilled at the strong support already shown by local alumnae and look forward to continued support and involvement. Also this fall Alpha Xi Delta will invite a new group of women to realize their potential at St. Norbert College in DePere, Wisconsin. Ranked in the top three of Midwest colleges by US News and World Report, St. Norbert College caters to over 2,000 students. We were excited to accept the invitation to come to St. Norbert and absorb the local sorority Alpha Sigma Chi. The colonization activities will take place during the first week of October following informal recruitment. |
<---------- local alumna who is anxiously awaiting the pledging ceremony!!! (Well, okay, I'm not really local, as Greensboro is about 2 hrs. from me. But I'm excited I'm going to be able to see the colonization process first-hand!)
:D :D :D Quote:
