Pledge Class Exchanges/Mixers (whatever you call it)

Hey Everyone!
I'm incharge of new member ed, and am getting stuff in gear for our pledge class this fall...every year the pledges from the fraternities want to have an exchange with our new girls, but for pledges only...their ideas always suck, and then their actives show up and punk around their pledges or scope out the new girls, and put salt in the new boys' game...so does anyone have any ideas for themes and alternative locations other than the houses?
Thanks!

We had an unofficial "pledge social" last fall - one of the guys we knew threw a party, and it was a bunch of Kappas and some guys from his fraternity - they didn't have a pledge class at the time, and there were a whole bunch of randoms there - but it was really fun. I think it was nice for our new girls to go to a party where they knew a lot of people, but were still meeting new people - and they could relax and get to know sisters out of the house and in a casual setting...

I know you couldn't really officially organize something like this, within the rules of the sorority, but if a casual get-together were to happen on the side...?

This was completely on the fraternity's part, but last year a fraternity's pledges wanted to cook dinner for our pledges, so they just came over to our house and cooked while our pledges hung out with them... then they all ate dinner together, no one bothered them, and the girls really liked it. I thought it was so sweet of the guys!

I loved the pledge mixer we had when I was a pledge. One of the fraternities asked us to have a pledge mixer and I think they even had the idea for how to do it. Anyhow, right before we were to go over to their house we met up at our house and each girl got a box that had a tie in it that you were to put on to wear over to the fraternity house. When we got to the fraternity's house you had to talk to their pledges and try and find out who's tie you had. It was really neat because you ended up having conversations with lots of the guys (most of the time) before you found the one who's tie you had. I thought it was a good idea and I think its been repeated since then between our pledge classes.
