Expansion at UBC
Hi all,
Panhellenic at the University of British Columbia may be expanding! There are currently seven groups on campus: Alpha Phi Alpha Delta Pi Alpha Gamma Delta Delta Gamma Gamma Phi Beta Kappa Kappa Gamma Delta Phi Epsilon In the past, there were nine sororities on UBC's campus. The two that folded were Alpha Omicron Pi and Kappa Alpha Theta. One of those two groups was extended an invitation to recolonize at UBC, and today, the (inter)National Council of the group that was chosen will vote on whether to return to campus. How exciting.. I'll post as soon as I know something! |
Thank you!
I had seen the comment about a new group coming a week or so ago when I found the recruitment schedule but there was no mention of who the group was. |
I hope everything works out!

how exciting!!! i think it is great that a glo with a history on that campus has been asked to recolonize!!!

Expansion won't be taking place this year. However if the group accepts it should take place next year.

It's Official
Kappa Alpha Theta voted to accept the offer of expansion! They're returning to UBC after a 23-year absence.
Congratulations to Theta and to UBC! |

Congratulations to Theta and to UBC! I wish more Panhellenics would follow UBC's lead and offer NPCs that have previously been on campus an opportunity to recolonize.
Major kudos all around. :) |

I just got word that Theta is planning to colonize this fall (or maybe in the spring). They won't be taking part in recruitment officially, but will be present at orientation.
Aries: I found this at the Theta website by clicking on What Is Theta > Theta Through the Decades > 1930s: The chapter roll continued to expand to include British Columbia, Pennsylvania State, Alberta, McGill, Colorado College, Rollins, Georgia, and Western Ontario. Once again Kappa Alpha Theta was an International Fraternity. |
WOW!!
this is fantastic. i don't think i've heard of anyone expanding in Canada lately. welcome back theta!! :D |
