Alumni Chapter meetings?
 

How often do your alum chapters or components of those chapters meet?

When I was President, our Exec Board met every couple of months for a few hours to plan the events for about 4 months out. My opinion was that I didn't have time for meetings, and they pretty much agreed.

We don't have actual "meetings" as a whole alum chapter. We have events. Happy hours, Founders Day, Susan G. Komen Race, winery tours, holiday party, Pampered Chef party.

Most business is done by the Exec Board and elections so far (we've only been around since 99) have been done by email vote since we never had more than one person running per position.

We have informal get togethers once a month (or at least, we're trying to now), but we haven't had a formal alum chapter meeting since I've been a member.

We meet every month from September to May. Exec board met twice over the summer, once to plan for the year and the second time to prepare our newsletter for mailing.

Originally our Alumni Association met every week. We thought that was too much, so moved it to 1st & 3rd Sundays. The first meeting is at the same place, the second meeting is a 'floater' that can be held at different locations, or might be replaced by an event.
