RUSH results for Delta State

OK you RUSH addicts..... I know most of you probably have never heard of Delta State University in Mississippi. However, I was talking to someone on campus this morning and they mentioned that it had been crazy on campus yesterday because bids were given out. So I asked a few questions, received a few answers....and here are the results:

Tri-Delta 21
Kappa Delta 29
Phi Mu 28

Quota was 26.

Chapter size is 60-70.

Of the women who filled out a card after preference, 4 did not receive bids.

Just feeding the addiction..........................:D

Ahmmm, :o

I grew up in the area (my sister is a Fighting Okra almuna) !

I thought they had more sororities than that though...

Anyway, congrats to everyone and thanks for the "hit" ! :D

4?! how many went through in the beginning?

The person I talked with did not know how many had originally gone to First Round parties. She did say that numbers were low this year. She said that people just don't seem to be as interested there at this time. If any of you have a contact in one of the groups, see if you can find out for us!!!

Henderson plays Delta State in football, but I don't remember the Fighting Okra bit.

I'll have to make a great big banner for this year's game  :p !!

Yep, our unofficial mascot if the Fighting Okra. Back in the 70s or 80s the students became dissatisfied with the Statesmen mascot. Too generic, not viscious enough, and as a spoof designed the Fighting Okra mascot. It took off like crazy, and outsells official paraphernalia.

Gotta love'em.

LMAO!!! My dad started the ROTC program at Delta State in the late 70s (I think the progrm closed).. I sooo have a Fighting Okra (or should I say my daughter) doll!!! Their offical mascot is a green and white statesman! We lived in Cleveland for three years and I attended Park Elementary. My first babysitter (that I remember) was a cheerleader at DSU. My cousin is dating a Pike Alum from DSU! I have many relatives in Cleveland and the Bolivar County area!

There are only three sororites at DSU.. though if I remember correctly there use to be four?

When I attended Delta State University, there were four- ZTA, DDD, KD, PM. ZTA closed in the mid-ninties.

What a coincidence, Angel! You probably knew some of the Cummins' from the area. There are only about a billion!

My campus minister is from Delta State.

ROTC

When I attended DSU in 88-93 the ROTC program was alive and well. I will look in the yearbook (yes, I get one every year just to keep up ;) ) to see if it is still active.
