AKA information
Greetings ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., I have a friend who is interested in becoming an AKA. Her mother was an AKA who resently passed away. What is the process of becoming a member of your organization on the graduate level and is there such a thing as legacey in AKA? Respectfully, KingBlade06

I'm sorry to hear about the passing of her mother and our soror. Membership on the graduate level is by invitation only. To claim legacy status, there is a procedure to follow and additional requirements must be met.

Thank you for the information. I will expound on the question by asking...In this situation, would legacy be concidered and if so how should I advise my friend from this point?
Respectfully, KingBlade06 |
Legacy could be considered, however, since her mother is now deceased that would be another issue to consider. I would advise your friend to contact the graduate chapter. If her mother was a member of a grad chapter, then hopefully she will know members of the chapter on a personal basis.

Why don't you inform your friend about this forum. That way she can get information directly and many of her questions can be answered.
