adpi scholarships

i like to surf the websites of other sorities nationals' pages, and i was just wondering why adpi doesn't award as much money as some of the other sororities. for example, alpha delta pi gave away about $55,000 in awards compared to kappa alpha theta's $450,000. why such a big difference? is it all based on individual donations? you would think that we could award a little bit more to collegiates if they could give away that much....

.....just wondering....

I really wish we gave away more too...cause I really am going to need money for grad school...

I've never done a comparison among the sororities. Does Thetas include local scholarships? A lot of ADPi chapters have a scholarship for one thing or another that is kept within the chapter.

I honestly don't have enough information on the topic to discuss it intelligently, but it's certainly something worth looking into!

Hi Sisters!

Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation is a much older Foundation than the Alpha Delta
Pi Foundation. I believe KAT Foundation was started in the 1940's. Our
Foundation was incorporated in 1983. KAT Foundation has had much longer than
us and most other sorority foundations to accumulate money and to let their
money earn a return, and this is how they are able to provide more academic scholarships. The Alpha Delta Pi Foundation has raised a lot of money over the years for various charitable orgs, and to provide members with ongoing trainings like District Leadership Conference and our academic scholarship programs. Local chapters also sometimes offer a local scholarship outside of the Foundation awards. Your chapter might want to look into setting something like this up, or your local alumnae association.

Best of luck!
