Hello Ladies!

I was wondering if anybody out there had the complete words to the song "Today" (Today as we gather in our sisterhood...) We (alumni) were going to sing it to one of our sisters at a wedding, but realized that we only knew the first verse. Any help would be appreciated!

The way we sang it was:

Today as we gather in our sisterhood,
remembering the moments and times that were good,
to you Alpha gamma Delta we'll always be true,
knowing the times and the memories we've shared through you.

I'll be a sister to all of the others you'll know who I am by my badge set with pearls,
I'll strive for perfection in all I endeavor,
You'll be proud to be an Alpha gam girl.

I know the 2nd verse differently...

We'll be together in friendship forever

Alpha Gam days will live in our hearts.

Yeah, that's the way we sang it also.. but sometimes (for recruitment or other special events) we would sing even more lines. I just can't remember them to save my life. (i was in the exceptionally tone-deaf pledge class)

These lyrics are so, so pretty. I wish I knew the tune. Someone is going to have to teach it to me at Convention. :)

Our's was Sari's version. I had to close my eyes and sing it to myselfto figure out the words.

I like this song. I am not fond of the "happy family" song. :)

This is one of my favorites! Luckily, I volunteered to baby-sit a few of the officer notebooks for the summer for sisters who live far away and couldn't fit them in their luggage, so I have a songbook here (if you want any other lyrics, let me know!). Here is the "long version" of Today:

OUr chapter sang all three verses as well.

Special(happy :) family) is okay if it is sung well. I have heard a chapter or 2 massacre it.

Hey DW, in the song book, does it have sheet music? We have a girl in our chapter who can play the violin I'm trying to track down sheet music for her.

The song was written by Randy Sparks and recorded by the New Christy Minstrels who began long before many (most?) GCers' parents had even met. :)
