Survivor - Who watched??

I won't say anything else, I am not sure who saw, or for that mater who cares ... I will just say I am pisssssssssed with the outcome!! I think the show was a bit rigged and I will not watch the next running of it. That is just my unsolicited opinion.

Total Elegance 08-23-2000 10:19 PM

I didn't want the person who won to win. I won't say who because depending on your time zone, you may not know the outcome yet. And old girl's comment (you all know who I'm talking about) was waaaaaaay out of line. Her comment alone would have swayed my vote. Sore loser to say the least.

Eclipse 08-24-2000 08:32 AM

I am sooooooo feeling your comments on this!! I too was none to pleased with the outcome, but as I started to think about it, the runner up was trying to be strategic in her last vote, but it backfired. Total, as Gervese said, that little speach was FOUL!!!!

I can't imagine Survivor II topping this one!!

Resplendent_Maria 08-24-2000 08:56 AM

I, too, was disappointed with the winner. I believe all those $ winning shows are slightly tampered with, anyhow. But is was an exciting show, and what that women said about Kelly was too foul. It's true what brother-man said, "If she was up there, she woudn't be trash talking." What a sore loser.

Serenity 08-24-2000 09:09 AM

I would've like the other finanilst to win, but hey, it didn't turn out that way. As far as Sue's comments, she was so TACKY. C'mon, don't hate when you all played the game. I have to give it to Gervase because he said exactly what was on my mind. Did anyone watch the reunion show? I didn't. I had had enough by then. Let me know if anything of interest happened.

AKAtude 08-24-2000 09:48 AM

I thought Kelly should have won. I also agree with the statements Gervase made while casting his vote. Sue's comments were out of line. She is a certified villain in my book.

I did watch the reunion show, and Kelly and Sue did "shake hands". However, Kelly appeared unhappy. Although Sue said she has no regrets, I think she does.

I was listening to a popular radio station in New York and I was even more sadden about last night vote when the radio personality stated that this is what AMERICA rewards. We root for the cunning, back stabbing, lying, cheating, pompous villain ... It just added salt to an open wound, I really got upset with the outcome at that point. MAKES ME THINK ABOUT AN IMPORTANT SURVIVOR RACE IN NOVEMBER http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif

hey sisterfriends...

i was reading your comments on the survivor show and i hate to say this but i am kinda glad the hatch won. *s* please don't crucify me.

from the beginning he was trying to get everyone to work together

well....i wanted rich to win soooooooooo bad. in the newspapers, here in nyc they are calling him king rat.
based on his expertise as a freelance corporate communications trainer, Rich Hatch conducts seminars on numerous topics affecting businesses, from conflict management to team building and negotiation.

Those skills, of course, came in handy on the island — and led to his going home as the big winner.

He shook up the place in week two by revealing he is gay. Later in the series, Hatch admitted to the cameras that he was manipulating the other castaways to his way of thinking and organized a four-person voting bloc. The members of his alliance eventually became the final four survivors.

but in the end it is every wo/man for themselves.

lots of love....

The thing that really got me in the end was the way Greg decided to vote. He asked them to pick a number 1-10. Because Rich picked #7, he came closer to #9 than Kelly's #3 as he explained during the reunion show. So, if Kelly had said #8, #9, or #10 she could have won.

Hello Ladies,

Let me throw this question out there since it's been the topic at my job ALL morning long. Do you think people are more upset for Rich winning because of his strategy/ alliance or because he admitted to being gay?
A lot of Americans still don't accept homosexuality or have homophobia.
Some of my co-workers were saying "I can't believe the gay guy (plus other references)won", instead of just calling him by his name.

Diarra 08-24-2000 03:21 PM

Well I did not like the outcome either, I think that Rudy was more deserving than the two of them.
1- He did not pretend being the friend of anyone during this whole thing. (unlike kelly)
2- He was not lying, cheating conniving or backstabbing to anyone. (unlike rich)

That Kelly girl worked really hard, but frankly the whole deal about how the people she befriended and voted off the island should have chosen her because she was a better person was Bull@$#% to me. She betrayed their friendship one after the other.

At least Rich did not come out trying to be friends with everybody. He had a plan and stuck to it.

Just my two cents

How are yall doing anyway http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif !

LadyAKA 08-24-2000 04:11 PM

I could care less about Rich being gay...

Most say it was a game and he played it well, but I really like what Epitome said about how the people he manipulated most gave HIM their votes, SHAME ON THEM! I really don't care who won b/c it was not me (yeah now I am hating), but I really feel Rich did not deserve it!!

Soror AKAtude, Greg was on a show this morning and he stated that his voting was a joke, he actually did come in knowing who he would vote for, he did not plead his case any further, saying he does not care what people think.

Ole Truck Driving Sue does need the lord! She basically showed that she is a 'insert color' Neck....hey she said it all the time, not me!!

After getting over my bias that the last two people should have been the only two token blacks on the show, I realized that Gretchen should have been one of the last survivors ....oh well

I think Greg voted for Rich because when asked which two people would he choose to be finalists, Rich said Greg would be one. He also said something about wishing Greg was around a bit longer. He was trying to score points. He was manipulative to the end.

Ali1976 08-24-2000 08:45 PM

Ok I watched 'Survivor' from day one. Yeah I was hooked..lol But anyways, someone said something about Kelly lying OMGosh THEY ALL LIED except Rudy. He kept his word about voting for Rich. I don't see how Rudy would have been the best deserving person? All he did was cook RICE?? Oh my...yeah I give it to him he's a great guy for serving in the Navy for 45 years but it was like did he learn anything??

Sue is LUCIFER!!! She really did show her true colors!!!

Rich is an arrogant pompous....oh well...I dont care if he's gay or not but he sucked!!

I wanted Kelly to win personally

Oh well...that's all I have to say.

Epitome 08-25-2000 12:11 AM

LadyAKA,

I too, was saddened by the vote because what happened on the island validated what often happens in the "real" world: Duplicitous, malipulative people get rewarded, while honest people or at least people who admit to struggling with what's right or wrong get the shaft. What bugged me even more, though, was that the very people who were manipulated by Rich seemed to admire his ability to play them and rewarded him with their votes.

Now, that Sue chick was just plain foul, and I think Gervase was dead on in his comments.

The best person (GRETCHEN!) was out of the running long ago, but I was hoping it would be between Rudy and Kelly in the end.

Oh well, at least it wasn't Sue!

It was interesting just to see how human nature played out in a tough situation, but it will never get more interesting than this one. They should just scrap Survivor II right now.
