how do you rush well?

Hi everyone!! This upcoming semester i am going to be on the rush committee of my sorority. i really really really want to bring in a bunch of girls when we have our formal rush for the second semester, but i'm not sure how to go about it. how do you meet girls and get them interseted in your sorority? also how do you make sure that they come to rush, both formal and informal? can anyone give me some suggestions? thanks a bunch:)

Having deferred recruitment gives you a huge advantage in that it gives you a whole semester to get to know pnms before they go through recruitment. One key way to do that is to encourage all of your sisters to join clubs or do various activities on campus (wearing letters, of course!) to 1) get your name out and 2) to have the opportunity talk to pmns and get to know them as friends before the pressures of recruiting them during formal and informal recruitment. You should give it some time before trying to push your sorority on them; start out by getting acquainted, then eventually casually mention that you're in a sorority, that you're having a philanthropy that they may be interested in, that you're having a mixer with XYZ fraternity, etc. Every sister should make it her goal to get at least 1 or 2 pmns interested in signing up for recruitment, and specifically, in joining your sorority. You can also have informal get-togethers at your house (if you have one) throughout the semester so that the pmns get to know more of the sisters before recruitment begins. All of this will help make formal recruitment more comfortable and personalized for both the pmns and the sisters, and if pmns and sisters are comfortable with each other, then the pmns will be signing their bids in no time. Good luck! :)
