PRINCIPLES OF INFO.SYSTEMS $71.00

ORG BEHAVIOR WITH SELF ASS CD $121.75

WEST'S LEGAL ENVIRON.OF BUS.+ONLINE GD. $119.00

QUANTITATIVE ANAL.F/MGMT.-W/CD $123.75

Be glad you're not a student in an art or architecture program. I paid over $1,000 in studio supplies for one class ALONE. The only consolation is that I can use most of those supplies forever.

Normally, I pay about $375 a semester in books for my other classes.

OUlioness01 08-11-2003 11:56 AM

EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY $83
EXCEPTIONAL LIVES $83
PRINCIPLES OF MACROECONOMICS $86.80
GRAND TOTAL: $252.80

luckily one of my classes is an observation...this is only 3 classes worth of books :(

Gina1201 08-11-2003 12:02 PM

Well I am only taking two classes. Both require new edition of books that came out this year! However, I found one book on amazon.com for only $47.80 (the price at the bookstore was $77.25). The other book I will be buying at the bookstore. :( It's for accounting and the price is $124.25. But, my old work-study boss said that I could use her 10% discount which will bring the book down to $111.82. So my grand total is: $163.11. My cheapest semester yet.

Okay, I found my accounting book on this website called College Books Direct. They are selling the book for like $85.00!! :D In the bookstore it's $124.25. I'm so happy, I thought I''d share my news.

Mine are about $500 this semester.

My first semester in law school, they were $1000. And I've only been able to sell one of them back. For a whopping $25.00

rhosigmazeta 08-14-2003 02:13 AM

usually i get my books on like half.com and save like $150+ but this time i couldn't find most of my books cheaper or in better condition so i had to get em in the bookstore...so i'm saddened to say i spent $306.18 i'm used to spending like $100-150 at the most so it sucks...and i still need 2 books and that will prolly make the grand total $400+ grrrrrrrr:mad:

You should list them on half.com and/or Amazon.
I sold almost all of my law books back (study aides sell well too) and made a lot of the money back.
They look nice on your shelf, but there's really no need to hang on to them. :)

How much are your books??? How much are your books???

TOO DAMN MUCH!

White_Chocolate 08-14-2003 11:47 AM

it's a pity that i am in upper level classes
and i don't buy the book until the day before our first test
and if we don't have a test, i don't buy the book

sometimes 2 of us will go half on it

That IS after listing on Amazon

All I sold was my contracts book.

Also, because we have the civil law in LA, we have 2 sets of books for many classes - a common law text, and then a civil law text, published by the school.

my books are cheap for this semester. i only paid $270.00. much lower than usual

Rio_Kohitsuji 08-14-2003 02:12 PM

Well during this summer semester for 3 books I only spent $50. This is due to I bought one off of Amazon for $20, bought one from the dreaded bookstore for $30 and the last one was free because I used a the same book that my older sister did.

This fall semester however...oye..the average is normally around $400...and I'm skimp A LOT.

ZetaLuvBunny 08-14-2003 02:35 PM

I'm not sure, but I'm guessing around $250 - $300.
I have to buy books for:

Child Psychology (probably around $75)
Behavioral Modification (prob. $75)
Computer Literacy (??? no clue)
Themes in American Literature (prob. $50)
Seminar on Careers in Psychology (only like $10)

Luckily, a friend of mine who keeps all of her textbooks is allowing me to use her Algebra book (it's like $90!), but I still have to buy the $100+ calculator that I'll never use again.

Well, since I have already graduated, nothing! Woo hoo! Music was an expensive major though...

However, my sister is a Photography major and it is through the roof!!!!!!!! She has to have several different kinds of cameras (even an antique!) photo paper, darkroom stuff, lens filters, film, accessories, etc. And most of it you have to buy at specialty stores. It is unbelievable. My mom has a Masters in Art though from back in the day (no longer in that career!) so she knows that it is way expensive.
