Rush Jewelry
A girl from my school who I had talked with before the "strict silence" began had mentioned that with my outfits I wear a piece of unique jewlery. She told me this months ago, and yet I still think about that statement because when you see someone you don't know and notice a unique piece their wearing it intrigues me I suppose.
Anyways I was wondering if this is unique? A charm bracelet with charms that actually mean something to you. Those dangling earrings that are kind of like sticks. A tanzanite ring in the shape of a flower, also matching necklace pendant too. How would that be? See, I'm not a very wild girl. I like classy jewelry, and am worried I won't have that spunky "unique" appeal. |
I think the jewelry sounds good! I really like the idea of the charm bracelet as well. Go with what you feel comfortable with. If you're not a wild girl then don't wear wild jewelry. If you're into classy jewelry then wear classy jewelry! Wear what represents YOU! :) (BTW I think the earrings sound very classy!)
You can still have a spunky unique feel. Maybe try thinking about what makes you unique and make sure that part of you comes out during conversations. :) |

There you go! Your bracelet is a built in conversation starter! :D

ANYTHING that is such a conversation starter is worth wearing!
When I went through rush, I wore a pin that a friend had made for me - it was a large washer with a nut, a bolt, and a couple of screws welded on it, then gold plated. It was a guaranteed ice breaker! |
It cost me alot sentimentally to give up (just for rush) my hemp necklace made for me by one of the youth I counseled at a camp. Somehow it just didn't seem to go with the dresses I bought... It is the most meaningful piece of jewelry I own, and I'm thinking of wearing it one of the casual nights just because it does mean so much to me.
Edited to say: 555 posts for me! Yippee! |

As was discussed somewhere else, though, try to avoid anything that is a blatant symbol for one of the sororities on your campus. It may raise a few eyebrows, even though that is not your intention.

the charm bracelet is an AWESOME idea. we actually mentioned this in rush practice- that if a PNM is wearing a charm bracelet, to take advntage of it and ask her about it. it gives her a chance to talk about what each charm means to her, and is a great "storyteller" and is fun. its esp. good when the conversation is struggling, bc it gets the PNM talking in no time and the sister asking questions. yep, ladies if you have charm bracelets, WEAR EM! lol

haha! i have that exact same charm your talking about... a little silver fold-up laptop, and when you open it the screen is engraved with a big smiley face. lol. i am such a computer nerd too.
