Head Quarters in Indy!
Checked with one of the Hdq. People Tues.
Yes, it is two fold why so many Greeks are in Indy! 1. Tax Breaks. 2. Central location! Many are in the same general vicinaty of each other! Lets Do Lunch type thing! LOL!:) |
So true! When I worked at our IHQ we were all very close to those other groups on Founders Road. I had so much fun when I lived and worked there!
|
Yup
We're located in Indiana. Vincennes, Indianna to be precise. Our HQ was originally in Jersey, but after some land was donated to the HQ they moved back to our founding location.
|
We were founded in Richmond, Va. Our HQ never left where we were founded. I know there are a few who's HQ is in the same place where their organizations were founded.

When I think of central USA, Indiana does not come to mind. Kansas and Oklahoma come to mind. Is it me? |
shopgirl,
LOL, that was my thought exactally!:) But who knows what is in the heads and hearts of PEEPS! Tax break and they will come:D I would love to see a map of location of all Hdq. in that area, now that would be a eye opener! I would love to get there one of these days and see for my self. |
NPHC HQ is in Indiana also. I always wondered why. Thanks Tom!

Indy might be close to the population center of the country, though. As you probably know, there's a whole lot of land out here in the West with nobody living on it. And, the East is pretty population intensive. Let's be realistic, though. The real reason is the dollar savings due to tax incentives. The the way, the Delt HQ is in an Indy suburb. It was just opened earlier this summer. It's the first time we've actually owned our own HQ -- always rented before. |
Phi Sigma Kappa's HQ is located on the north side, at 96th and Keystone, about 15 minutes from Founder's Row (I used to live 5 min. from our HQ). Founder's Row is on the northwest side of the city, near 86th and Michigan, just off I-465. Some other HQ in Indy that aren't on Founder's Row are Alpha Kappa Lambda (in Castleton on the northeast side), and Phi Kappa Psi in Lockerbie Square near downtown (neat, historic building they rehabbed). Someone else has an HQ on Pennsylvania just north of downtown, but I don't remember which GLO. I used to drive past it on my way home from work every day...
NPHC HQ is located at Bloomington (I believe it's actually on the IU campus). Also NIC and NPC are HQ'd in Indy as well, and AFA (Association of Fraternity Advisors) is HQ'd in Carmel just north of the city. |
Phi Mu is building a new HQ in Peachtree City..about 10 minutes from me...if no traffic, lol. It's next to my hubby's work and I am soo jealous!;) :D
Knowing the Phi Mu's, I'm sure it will be gorgeous! |

I came very close to attending the grand opening and dedication ceremony. Just didn't have the time off work and extra bucks to make it at the time. |
Indy HQ
DU's International Office moved to Indiana from New York City in 1970. The official reasons given for the move by national officers revolved around favorable tax rates in Indy, lower labor costs and a central location to chapters.
DU's office is at 8705 Founders Road,Indianapolis, Indiana. |
