A simple poll:

Are you a LEADER or a FOLLOWER?

There are many who naturally "take charge"; while there are others who often times "take direction".

Which one are you?

I would like to follow, but for some reason, I find myself leading.

I think I am a combination of both. For me it depends on the circumstance, but for the most part I wind up doing my own thing and not what others do! If that makes any sense.

Good question!

I am definitely a follower.

I've never been extremely comfortable in a "leadership" position, and really don't have a problem being a follower. What's funny is that I've heard that most followers make good leaders - maybe because we're good at taking direction and it doesn't matter who's in charge!

I'm usually good at following directions (if you don't count the 1st time I came on GC and didn't read the POW and posted in another thread instead of introducing myself in the appropriate thread!) and am definitely more comfortable following rather than leading.

I am a LEADER all the way. As you say, 2D, I would like to follow, but if things don't go my way, I wind up taking over.

The way I see it is this: I would ratherbe responsible for my own success/failure. I would rather lead myself down a path, whichever it may be, than to follow someone there.

I am also both, but I'm more of a leader than a follower. I think you have to be both and it depends on the situation. I am like Soror 2D, I would like to follow, but no one ever wants to lead, so I'm the type of person that will step up. When I get tired, though, I know how to say NO, and will be fully prepared to follow!

A leader.
I like to lead and don't mind the responsibility that goes with it. I sometimes complain about leading but if I was following I would probably be complaining as well. However a good leader knows when to follow.

I would have to agree with you on this one.If I am following a positve leader, then,I go with the flow.Otherwise,I tend to do my own thing...I am off to myself a lot of the time.

I'm definitely a leader. Even in situations where I say I'm going to lay back this time, someone always calls upon me to take a leadership role.

Being a leader definitely isn't easy or a glamourous position. It can be very stressful at times, but what I have come to find is that in being a leader I have had to overcome obstacles that I thought I couldn't. It has made me be a stronger person.

Ummm can I be an independent?

I am really not a group person lately. I am more likely to lead myself to the bookstore follow my desire for a six pack to the gym. Solo. And I like that most of the time.

If I HAVE to pick one though I'll say leader just because I am really the anti-follower, lol.

leader by example

Same here although I tend more to be a leader.

Order

In order to be a good leader, one must be a good follower...

Like a few said, I'd rather just go my own way-doing neither.

Of course in some situations being independent is not an option. Then it is situational. I'm not crazy about leading, too much accountability, but when people don't know what the hell they're doing, I don't mind taking the lead for a while. Otherwise I just rather to go w/ the flow.

Also, being the leader puts a big target on your back. Sometimes I think indirectly persuading another leader to do things your way is the better option than leading yourself. Kind of manipulative, but it's one of the older tricks in the book that works.

I usually end up being the leader, but I'm comfortable following if that leader is a good one. A lot of people would like to think that they are leaders but are really outspoken followers. I'm the oldest child, so leading just seems so natural to me :-)

I'm a bit of both
