Student Care Packages for Finals

What would you send someone in a care package? Also if you know they dont like sweets or deserts, what do you include other than salty snacks? Just wondering and needing ideas TODAY. Thanks.

absolutuscchick 08-06-2003 12:50 PM

whos it for? but one thing that is kind of fun to get are pictures (they always make ME happy!)

how about some magazines, cd's you'll know she likes, stuff like that?

OrigamiTulip 08-06-2003 01:29 PM

a disposable camera
a roll of quarters
some nice coffee or tea, depending on their preference

texas*princess 08-06-2003 01:34 PM

A roll of quarters is a great idea BetaRose. In college, quarters are GOLD :D

how about a small stress ball?

Some #2 pencils for those tests!

maybe a gift certificate to a restaurant she likes so she can eat well during finals?

RedRoseSAI 08-06-2003 01:41 PM

One of my ex-boyfriends put together a finals kit for me. He included:
Green tea
Viverin (sp?)
a small Bible, for last minute prayers! :)
No. 2 pencils
some little snacks.

Actually, I'd love to hear more ideas on this subject. I think my alumnae chapter is going to start doing this for the college chapter in our area!

My mom is the queen of care packages. She used to send packages with salty snacks, sweets, pictures that my niece and nephew had drawn, and hometown newsclippings.

Other things I got in Mama packages:
-a yoyo
-packets of kool-aid
-there's other stuff that I've forgotten
-pictures
-art supplies

You could get those pudding or applesauce packages or fruit cups, the kind designed to go in lunches that don't have to be refrigerated.

Also, instant coffee/tea/cocoa/cider.

Nuts or sunflower seeds.

Juice boxes.

A roll of quarters.

A Koosh ball.

lifesaver 08-06-2003 04:59 PM

So I have put the package together on my lunchbreak:

A bag of peanuts
A bag of sunflower seeds
A bag of fritos
5 packages of those little cheese and crackers
A few scratch off lottery tickets
A 20 oz. sprite
A mini can of pringels
A single pack of microwaveable popcorn
A few packs of gum
A pack of tums
A few super blow-pops
A few pics of me from this summer
A pack of #2 pencils
A pack of smokes (it is finals, so I guess its ok)
A $20 gift card to Chilli's (THANK YOU texas*princess)
A shell necklase thats been oogled for a while at Abercombie.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I'll let you know the reaction I get.

You're welcome lifesaver! I'm always glad to help out when I can! It sounds like you put together a great care package from all the great suggestions!!! :)

absolutuscchick 08-06-2003 05:08 PM

How sweet are you with such an awesome care package, she's going to be way excited! :)

aephi alum 08-06-2003 06:23 PM

What a sweet gesture! :)

I'd lose the Sprite, just in case something happens in transit. Everything else looks good.

Peaches-n-Cream 08-06-2003 06:28 PM

Lifesaver is so sweet. :)

Here's my fantasy list for Finals care packages:

- One of those squeeze balls (allevates stress and you could
throw it around if studying drives you nuts).
- A small bottle of lavender oil (aromatherapy)
- A bottle of shower gel containing lavender
- Half a pound of ground coffee from Starbucks
- One of those individual coffee makers (cup included)
- A box or two of teas (chamomile, green and peppermint)
- Two bags of Veggie Booty
- Two bags of Fruity Booty
- A book of jokes, comics or anything humorous
- One pages of Newman Os (like Oreo's, but organic)
