Calling all Clemson Alumni!

My husband just found out today that he will be going to the UGA-Clemson game on the 30th. He says that you can float on Lake Hartwell right up to Death Valley, dock, and walk over to the stadium. Is this true? It's been over 15 years since I've been in Clemson but I definitely don't remember Lake Hartwell being right there!

Thanks!!:D

It is true! A lot of people boat to the Clemson games. You don't dock right at the stadium but it is just a short walk. I've never done it but my brother has. He said there's no official place to dock though. You have to tie your boat up to a tree or anchor it somehow. My brother said they just stopped at a private dock and went up to the house to ask the people if they could dock there and they said sure. Otherwise if you don't get permission you need to make sure you are not on private property.

Your other options are to dock at the Seneca Marina or the Lake Hartwell Inn but those are not really within walking distance to the stadium. The Seneca Marina phone number is 864.653.8100 and the Lake Hartwell Inn is 864.654.4450.

BrownEyedGirl and axotiger went to Clemson so they may be able to tell you more.

How 'bout them dawgs! :D

If my dad hadn't gotten transferred to GA when I was 5, I probably would have ended up at Clemson. Our house was about 1/2 mile from Lake Hartwell! My folks always cheered for GA except when they played Clemson. (I pulled for UGA, lol).

Wish the AGD chapter would recolonize!

Well, I still go there... and I've never done that. [probably since I dont have a boat, but oh well]. That would be pretty sweet though!!

I'm so excited about football season this year, especially since I moved to Daniel Square [walking distance to campus & downtown] This way I won't have to drive anywhere. I drove to a game ONCE last year [i lived kinda far]... and after sitting in traffic after the game, i vowed to NEVER to it again... so i walked the rest of the games [eh whats a few miles on a saturday morning to get to tailgating!!]
