Dilemma....
Ok, for some reason really DISRESPECTFUL "ghetto" guys keep hitting on me! I dress conservatively, but when I go to the mall, I'm like a target! Do any of you girls have this problem?! I know it's a bit strange! Well anyways ladies, please get back to me soon!
:mad: |
Not a girl, but you project who you are by the way you may dress!:)
How do you think people will post and this thread when you have 3 Posts??? Who are you?? Not being nasty, just asking!:) |
I dress very conservatively, that is why I am so confused on this negative and unwanted attention. What does having only three posts have to do with Greeks replying??

Sorry to break it to you hun, but "boys will be boys." This isn't Afghanistan or any other Taliban-governed country, and they are allowed to look at you if they want. There really isn't anything you can do about it. Take it from me, I've had way too many experiences with guys like this and if you say anything or show that it bothers you it'll only make things worse for you cuz they'll get more pleasure out of catcalling you and whatnot. Just let it roll off your back and ignore them.

LOL I love all your answers! Thanks Grapist, but I really don't appreciate your thug stye, especially when it's rude and degrading to women.
Thanks Daisy! Youre right, however, I see you're from NY, where public harassment is known for being horrid. I hate this, and more women to need to speak out against this harassment --honestly. |
Daisy that's a great idea except for when ignoring the morons encourages them :rolleyes: Gotta love NYC.
Just perfect your look of pure disgust and evil and the phrase "don't touch me" I really don't mind being talked to. That is no big deal. Just nod and keep walking. People generally won't follow you and if they do a few sentences and a "sorry, I'm not interested" can end the situation in a positive way and with no hard feelings. I mind touching or asking stupid questions. "Why aren't you smiling?" I get that like every freakin day! Hellooooo this is New York, when was the last time you saw someone sane walk around smiling? Is it my responsibility to smile at you? Was there a memo that I missed? I will never ever smile at someone who asks me this stupid question. |

what makes them ghetto?
do you feel you are above them? how do you react to them when they talk to you? And yes, hollering at women is something men do. Some do it well, some don't, but it's not something you can stop without some sort of social engineering |
<snarky comment>
Maybe if you had a better grasp of the English language, this wouldn't happen. DILEMMA...there is no "N" in the word. D-I-L-L-E-M-A </snarky comment> |

I ASSume that she's talking about any guy that isn't clean cut...I hope. She considers herself as a clean cut girl and is upset and confused why she does not attract the same. If this is what she means, I totally understand. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with having those kind of standards. If she doesn't like "ghetto guys", regardless of how she defines it, she has a right not to.
*edited to add* Oh yeah, if you don't want to be bothered w/ someone, regardless of the reason, DON'T make eye contact, ever. In my experience, that has helped me a lot. |
I can understand feeling like you only attract guys you would never be attracted to.
BUT- Why do girls think that guys don't have a right to look at them or hit on them??? I mean, cat calling and being obnoxious is rude, but saying hi?? Or looking at a girl and smiling?? How else is he supposed to let you know he's interested? Think about it- if these guys were clean cut, you wouldn't have a thing to say except "Damn I looked good today." Take it as flattery and forget about it. |
