ebay/badges!
|
Thanks for the info, Sarah. Yes, the selling of badges makes me so angry, but something I do not think will stop anytime soon.
The first listing notes the "blue enamel" - um, no, it's black. The second listing in a very old copy of our magazine. While interesting, not anything esoteric. The third listing for the pledge pin - the seller hs a starting bid of $24.99! We get them from Burr Patt for about $3!!! Aren't you going through rush soon as BGSU? Good luck with that! I can't wait to read about it in your rush thread!!! Woo hoo for Chi O! (Sorry, I feel a shameless plug in our forum is ok!!! :D ) |
I actually decided to stay at home this year and commute to Kent State Stark campus, then next fall I will be going through recruitment-- At Kent State!!
AND there's still a Chi Omega! :) Aren't pledge pins supposed to be returned upon initiation/ dropping out??? Like I said when I listed the Phi Mu ones I found, when I join an org, I'm leaving in my WILL that when I die that badge be either buried with me or returned to HQ's!! Quote:

Ah, I missed your change in plns somewhere...Sorry! Well, good luck in advance for next year!
And, you are right, all sorority women should have it in their will what they want for their badge. I'm still debating burial (buried with it) or cremation (send to HQ). Since I do not yet have a will, I have told my mom to return it to HQ for now - but she doesn't like me to talk like that!! :p |
So Smart...
Did anyone else notice at the bottom of the page with the badge, the quote from the email about removing the badge from ebay? The seller responded with the fact that they were in "dire" need of cash...and then appologized to the BROTHERS of Chi Omega.
I'm certainly not a brother. |

Yeah, I only recently decided to stay home! :) This gives me tons of time to prep for recruitment next year-- better grades and more volunteering. :) Brothers of Chi Omega!!! hahaha. At least if people are going to sell your orgs stuff on Ebay, they could at least research it a little! Kathy- my mom doesn't like me to talk about it either. She's convinced that she won't have to cremate me-- which she probably won't. Sadly, she's a really heavy smoker so it's pretty unlikely that she'll outlive me. |
I'm really tired of watching our pins fall in to the hands of collectors, so currently, I am the highest bidder for the Chi Omega active's pin. If I get it, I am going to send it to Nationals, where it should have gone in the first place. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
|
Be careful though! There is (or at least used to be) someone on Ebay that is a Chi Omega and will bid on the pins to return them to Nationals too.

Hootie -
Thanks for the info. I'm going to keep an eye on who's bidding, and see if I can figure out who's a sister and who's not. I just got outbid, so I'm going to wait until the bidding is almost over and try again. I'll let you all know how it goes. |
Sarah -
I just want to say that I worked with a Chi O from Kent State & she was an amazing woman! If all of the chapter is like her (which I'm sure they are!) it must be a wonderful chapter - best of luck to you!! - Jen |

I still half some REALLY great chapters to choose from, including Tri-Sig, which wasn't at BG so I have that organization to educate myself on. :) Are you from around here as well? |
Didn't get the pin...was out-bid at the last minute by a rude non-ChiO. Grrr! Maybe next time.

I pm'ed ya! :)
