psychics--what do you all think???

so my friend took me to a psychic for a belated birthday/graduation gift on saturday. i am a HUGE skeptic.

she said things that i don't know how she could have known. but she also said a lot of bullcrap (in my opinion) that was far from accurate.

this particular psychic is a friend of my good friend for over 20 years.

so...what do you all think of psychics? please don't mention sylvia brown or that other guy on tv...i'm talking about regular, small time psychics.

what experiences do you have with them??

accurate? or full of crap?

I had gone to a psychic for nearly a year, for career, friend, school, potential bf and parent advice. Some of the things have come true, some have yet to come into fruition and some didn't come true at all. There are really good ones out there, but there are also some shady ones. I have been fortunate to have a very good one. This was at New Age shop and she was pre-screened prior to working there.

I have went to one... 2 times actually. And he definitely said a lot of things that impressed me. He also told me some specific things that he couldn't have known, which kinda gave me the creeps. But he also said a few things that just didn't fit at all. Like he said I have a brother, and I am an only child. And I was like "No, I don't have a brother." And he was like "Well do you have a close friend you consider like a brother?" Ummm... yeah, but that's not my actual brother, ya know?

I think a lot of them are fakes, but I honestly believe that some people have the gift. I just don't know if going to them is really a good idea. Especially if you let things they say effect your decisions.

Yes, it can happen!

Some have a power and some are schams!

I have seen things once in a while! Girl I was dating, did not know her maiden name, and she asked me what it was! Told her!

When younger, in a stange city with my folks, driving down the street lost. Saw something and told my Dad to turn at the next corner. Well found the place 2 blocks from turn!

Pissed him off as told me I did not know as none of us had ever been there!:)

We all have a little power but do not concentrate in using it!

I used to try self hypnosis for a little relax and sleep time! I was interupted laying on teh floor of the Fraterninty I was pleadging and have lost it as was so embaresed!

Ones brain gets taxed with the daily crap, the body gets tired! No one thinks of doing any thing like this!:(

I would think the "small-time" psychics would be more legit than the ones on TV. Come on, you can't do an accurate tarot reading without the querant present to shuffle the deck (at least, I don't believe so). But I do think some psychics are for real...just look at Edgar Cayce.

I'm just waiting for Miss Cleo or someone like that to use her mad psychic powers to go to Vegas or predict the Powerball numbers or something like that.

If you're going to whore yourself out on TV, etc., then you'd better be able to give proof.

I think there are indeed people on this earth who have the ability to "know" things. Our minds are powerful yet basically untapped. I have had and seen too many experiences within my own family to believe otherwise.

I have noticed that psychics appeal to women as a population more than men . . anyone know why that is?
