Questions about Delta portrayed on TV

No one will bite, so I'll try to answer your question. There is actually a thread somewhere (either on the DST or AKA pages) where we talk about this, but the answer is "it depends". I know that, for instance, Steve Harvey has an Omega Psi Phi crest on the wall in his apartment on the Steve Harvey Show, and he is a member of the fraternity. On the other hand, if you ever watch reruns of a Different World, you will see people with different letters of BGLOs, and most of them are not members of those organizations. If you ever saw School Daze, the Spike Lee movie, the guys that stepped for Alpha Phi Alpha are Alphas from the Alpha Rho chapter, Morehouse college. I'm not sure about Kellie Williams or that episode of Moesha. Hope that helps!

well,
i have asked the same question. it was pointed out to me that kellie only had on red on the epsisode and no symbols. so, she may have just been acting. the sorors who stepped were deltas though on that episode. i wondered if that guy on the episode was a kappa as well, but he did not have on letters, so....

i actually saw an episode of sister/sister last week when they were trying to get tia to pledge delta or aka. I noticed the singer Vesta was on there playing a delta, but again, she only had on red and white. she did have a pin on, and it resembled fortitude, but i was unclear. i've been on another site where this same question has been posed, and some sorors say if they aren't wearing symbols, they aren't deltas

i'm more interested to know which actresses are deltas....
i had no idea that a.j. johnson (house party, baby boy) was a soror, and like you, i'm curious about kellie shayne williams....

He did actually wear the letters. He had on a jacket.

Adrienne-Joi/AJ Johnson (She has gone by both names professionally) pledged Delta at Spelman back in the 80s. I would guess she pledged around 83-84 time frame. I was there at the same time, so I definately remember her.

I don't know if you're talking about the use of the word "was" instead of "is."

Or, if you're wondering if she really is a Soror.

LOL...I think it is the former.

But, I remember (as you may, as well) when she hosted the radio show during our Convention in ATL. She was OOO-OOPing and everything on aire. I believe (not sure) she attending some of the events.

Anywho.....

No, I meant the latter. I really didn't know about her being a soror, and I did not know about any radio show during convention. And well, let's this just put it this way--A&L would have put her to work if we had known - LOL.
