My admiration for BGLO's
 

I'd just like to say that it is truly a pleasure to read your posts. Its so wonderful to see so many INFORMED Black men and women raising pertenant issues, speaking so elegantly, and helping out each other.
I do have to say that for a long time I could not understand the motivation towards participating in a BLGO. I saw so many representing that which seemed vain, damaging, elitist, and trivial. But, as I continue with my research, read and write on the message boards, and "chat" with some of the sisters and brothers at skeephi.com, I AM PLEASED AND AMAZED. I am starting to get to the true meaning behind the organizations and one day hope to contribute to Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc. Please...keep up the good work in showing that Greeks are more than just talk and step shows because many of my peers are being discouraged from viewing Greeks in a favorable way by "less favorable" Greeks who TRULY MISREPRESENT their organization. Best of luck to all of you who remain positive and real. I one day hope to join your realm.

I think alot of the more POSITIVITY found in this forum is because the MAJORITY of us are "old heads", in some form or fashion. Most of us are working, have been out of school for years and are mature (even when it is hard to be).

I think maturity comes along with everything. Just like those "other" members you are speaking of...I am sure they will settle down. Or at least I hope they will.
Then sometimes, some people don't ever GROW UP. It is sad, but true. In order to be "successful" immaturity is not the answer.

Sometimes I vist other forums/chats and I tell you some of those neos (newer members)of other organizations are so DEFENSIVE, immature and downright disrespectful...That's why I like to come here to frequent with Sorors and other Greek family members who are mature.

Good luck to you...ask some of
your "friends" to scan through our and other forums on Greekchat.
