Meet-A-Inmate.com

http://www.meet-an-inmate.com/

Last night I was watching TV show and they were talking about a website called Meet-A-Inmate.com. I thought it was so bizarre that it was funny. It reminded me of the Seinfeld episode where George started dating an inmate so for congical visits.

what a wacky website....very weird!

Ok that is just a little TOO weird! They could at least tell you what the person has done. Not that I'd probably ever want an inmate as a penpal but if I did I think I'd rather have a car theif over a murderer. But hey, that's just me. :D

Well, in that case go to this site http://www.writeaprisoner.com/homepage.htm

the reason for incarceration is at the bottom, if it doesn't say you can safely assume it's 1st or 2nd degree murder, trust me (I searched a few for the hell of it).

After ya kill people, you can meet 'em online!!!

I remember Susan Smith [the psycho woman who drowned her two boys] signed up for something like that on www.writeaprisoner.com .

The original ad was taken down because of media publicity, but this is what remains.

Rudey 07-25-2003 05:43 PM

OK I didn't want to call him out but I just saw Tom on there. I don't know what to say anymore. First Tom and Amycat are making out and he brags about it online to all of us. Now we find out he's in jail for sodomy.

I remember this. They interviewed her mother to see if it was really Susan Smith who posted the ad.

Rudey, first off, Who spilled the Beans? This is supposed to be a secret!:o

Hell, the inmates of Federal and Major State Prisions live better than we do and eat better food! The only thing until now is they stay behind the BIG WALL! Now Trustees are getting out to contract to local areas on work relaesase Programs, some going to High Schools!!:o

They were not bad, they were misunderstood!

GeekyPenguin 07-26-2003 12:11 AM

I don't really get why you have to pay for the address of a female inmate...that seemed weird.

pinkyphimu 07-26-2003 02:32 AM

this is the scariest thing ever!! i can't imagine giving my home address to some criminal!! i am someone who believes in helping those who need it...and i definately know that there are people in prison who truly want to change, but i will not be signing up for this service!!!

I actually have PO box, and I'm seriously contemplating writing to a few of these people. I know if I'd done something to get into their shoes, I'd want someone to care enough to write to me.

(Of course I will not be using my real last name or anything like that!! Kindness with a dose of common sense, that's my motto!)

Peaches-n-Cream 07-30-2003 12:11 PM

I don't need to penpal that desperately.

ZetaLuvBunny 07-31-2003 09:49 AM

No way. Too freaky. Surely these people have the "connections" to find out who you really are/where you live if they really want to know.
