Question for Sorors, Fellow Greeks, SF's

For all my Sorors and fellow greek members, do you feel that you are getting what you expected out of pledging. I mean is this what you were expecting or where u expecting something much more or less.

And to the sisterfriends who are interested in joing an organization, what are you expecting out of it? It just seems to me that some of us has seem to forgot the reason why we joined?

I hope to gain sisterhood that extends beyond blood with classy ladies who put the needs of the community before their own. I’m looking to gain life long friendships with women who are determined in their quests for success, like myself. I don’t expect it to be a Utopia but I do expect a lot. I expect to lose some freedoms for the common good of others but I expect to gain other benefits that are simply incomprehensible to me right now. It’s like a dream. Those who cross are the ones fortunate enough to be awakened.

Good Question!

I can honestly say that my experience so far (I "crossed" into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. on January 5, 2003) has been what I expected and at times exceeded my expectations.

The camaraderie I experienced at our regional conference was amazing. The fellowship and friendship in my chapter is awesome. "We help each other"......(My Sorors know the rest.;) )

I have had the opportunity to put my leadership skills into practice on both the chapter and regional level.

We work hard BUT I didn't expect anything less. We know how to have fun too.:D

Most of all, I can say that I can see firsthand the impact that we make in the area we serve and that we make a difference in our community AND because of that I KNOW that Alpha Kappa Alpha is for ME!

I can say that my 9 years in Delta has been a huge learning experience. My first year was real fun, I was so excited to become a member, I was on this high..like..oohhh, so this is what it feels like :D :p

But once I took office and delved into the more serious side of Delta, there were times I thought, it can't be this hard. I saw first had how fustrating it can be working with personalities that were far different then my own. I quickly learned not to take things to seriously and had the support of my Sorors.

I have made some wonderful friend because of Delta and I have gained more from Delta, then I bargained for.
