KKPsi's newest chapter!
I just wanted to post to say hi to everyone on the board. I'm from the Shippensburg University Lambda Delta chapter which was just installed on July 11. We have 39 brothers and are all very excited to be active this school year! Everyone has been trying so hard to meet brothers from other chapters and were lucky to have people from all over come to our ceremony, including Syracuse, UConn, JMU, Clarion and our big chapter WVU. Hopefully we will meet more soon.
So hey I'm happy to be here. Can't wait to talk with you all! :) |
Haha cool chapter name LD...hehe. Anywho congrats from Lambda Alpha.

Thanks for the welcome!
Since everyone in our chapter is new to KKPsi, we obviously have *no* idea what's going on. :) I'm more familiar with the workings of social greek orgs since my best friend is the president of her sorority and I hear stories all the time. Plus I watched a lot of MTV's fraternity and sorority life, as unrealistic as it may be. Is our recruitment much different? I mean, do we hand out bids and have a big important bid week? What's rush like? Do the MC classes work together a lot during rush? Do you get to take part in Greek Week at your campus? I'm sure things like this are much more laid-back than a traditional social fraternity since we're here for service, but I'm just curious how things work. I'm also curious how the relations are between your chapter and the other organizations on campus. Do they look down on you? I sure hope not, because we're all brothers or sisters of unique groups, but in then end we're all in them to celebrate our common interests and for the life-long relationships we gain from joining.
Sorry to ramble and sound so ignorant about the inner-workings of the brotherhood, but I'm really interested in learning everything there is to know! Thanks, Jen Lamda Delta |
As for rush we invite the band members to a rush event where they can interact with us and have some fun. Then from rush we decide who to give a bid to depending on their interest in the group and also their committment to the band.
As for our relations to other greek orgs on campus we don't interact much with other groups. I'm a member of a social fraternity as well and rest assured my experience in KKPsi made my pledgeship in Phi Delta Theta much easier. KKPsi IS a real fraternity and don't let any social fraternity jerk get you down about that. KKPsi till I die and Proud to be a Phi. |
Congratulations and welcome to the Brotherhood!
