University President Getting Initiated!
The president of University of Houston is getting initiated into Delta Upsilon Fraternity!
I am excited because it really seems like UH administration is doing a lot to bolster support for the greek system lately, especially with the opening of all of the new Greek Park houses this fall. What better way to support greek life than for the president to join himself?! Plus, it is my husband's fraternity, so that's nice too :) Just wanted to share the news! |
That's wonderful!

That's awesome!
I know our president of the University of Oklahoma was initiated into Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia this past semester. He was really big into music when he was a student at OU. |
major show of support for the system.

WOW!
If you have a chance, try to explain what GC is and Give Him the Best Wishes from All GC Members!:) Never know, he may stop by!! Why not, there are Members of many National members who check the site out! What do they find? Love hope charity and working with each other!:) Greek Life at its best! |
The president of UT-San Antonio is a Lambda Chi from UT Austin. He doesnt really let a lot of people know about it, we actually discovered it and then questioned him about it, then he confirmed. Our org HQ was told and they have done some outreach and tried to get him involved in the natl org, and it seems to be working. Hes a great guy tho and the best president the school has ever had.

Damn rubbing elbows with some POOHBAAS is nice! IN ZAX, Bro! |
I hate to knock the wind out of your thread but from my understanding the new president of the University of Houston is already an initiated member of Sigma Chi.

Also keep in mind that DU is a non-secret fraternity - I still get periodic invitations to go to their initiations here at UNC. Out of respect that I do belong to an esoteric fraternity, I decline to attend. It is kind of interesting, though.

The immediate past president at UNC (University of Northern Colorado), former US Senator Hank Brown is a Delt. He actually came to a couple of our rush events -- although was very careful say good things about the fraternity system as a whole and not outwardly endorse Delt. He also spoke at a couple of our Founders Day events for the Colorado Delt Alumni Association.
It was really great to have support from the "front office" so to speak. Of course it didn't hurt to have an award winning chapter there and not one that would embarass him. As a nice little PR venture, Delts voluntered and were the ushers at his inaguration several years ago. He was a supporter of the entire Greek System and wanted it to expand to provide more social possibilities in Greeley. It is really too bad that he has moved on to other things. |

Thank you. ;) |

His predecessor Lujan? Drove greeks away like the plague - Delta Sig, Theta Xi, SigEp are all gone - many other chapters barely survived his tenure. |

Florida State
We've been lucky. Our new University President was a Phi Delt here at FSU and a football star. The new V.P. for Student Affairs was an ADPi here and her daughter is an ADPi here now. The head of the Boosters is an FSU Pike who is spearheading the new fraternity row project.
