Celia Cruz
Not sure how many of you follow salsa music...
but Celia Cruz has passed away, she was awesome!! her music was great and its just a big thing in miami all the people are talking about it. they might have a public viewing... so sad :( |
OMG that's just too sad. I didn't know who she was until last summer when my office gave out tickets to her concert here at the Sheraton.
I'm glad I got to see her perform live before she passed away. |
What?!?! OMG that's such devastating news!! Unfortunately I was never able to see her in concert and never will. She was an awesome woman who was awesome at what she did. A translation of probably her biggest hit "La Vida Es Un Carnaval:"

I got to see her and Tito Puente at the House of Blues during the 1996 Olympics. That was one of the highlights of the games for me.
|
Thats awful to hear, she will be deeply missed...
I have loved her songs since childhood when she made guest spots on Sesame Street. |

She will be greatly misssed! I am still in shock. She was one of those people that I figured as near immortal as she has been around forever! Azucar!!! |
Celia Cruz
The jazz station in L.A., KKJZ, is playing a Celia Cruz song as I type this. RIP Ms. Cruz.
