New News regarding the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa

My jaw just dropped when I was watching the news and apparently authorities got a tip today from a man serving a life sentence saying he knew about the location of information dealing with the possible kidnapping or death of Jimmy Hoffa (mobster and Teamster Union Leader). They are digging in a city in Michigan. Let me see if I can find more info. I am just amazed!

Wow! That would so shocking if this mystery was finally solved once and for all!

Do you know how many stickers are around Detroit that say "Hoffa Now"?

I went to school with his great niece and nephew. His nephew lived near me and was on our school board for a while. We always said that Jimmy was hiding in their basement.

I thought it was interesting that Hoffa's son James Jr. is now the Teamsters president, which is something that I did not know.

Wow PM-Mama! Neat! Back to the news! LOL

Edited to add: Does anyone know why the NY Giants Stadium is the reported place of where he is burried?

Since my car is always so messy, my friends always joke that Hoffa is in my trunk

I think they may have been pouring the concrete for this stadium, around the time when he disappeared. So if they added his body to the mixing concrete, it would have been hidden there.

I have no idea if this is even true, or if the dates even coincide, and I'm also too lazy to go and look up when the NY Giants Stadium was built. If anyone else is feeling "industrious", go nuts! :D

The other rumor is that his body is in the concrete under the Renaissance Center in downtown Detroit.

My sister-in-law worked for many years for an alleged mod (<---edit, oops, honest, this is a typo, lets make it MOB -- the mods had nothing to do with this that I'm aware of) controlled garbage company that supposedly took his body to the Meadowlands.

Who knows.

In 1968, just before the Republican Convention in Detroit, a number of us from the local CBS affilliate (now Fox) went to dinner with the CBS Chicago News Bureau at the Machas Red Fox restaurant which is where Hoffa was last seen. It was very strange to go the the bathroom where someone simply disappeared from the face of the earth.

That would be super creepy. Around a year ago, I was outside the Kappa Alpha Theta house at University of Washington in Seattle (where a Theta was abducted by Ted Bundy and to this day, she's never been found). Just knowing that perhaps 20 years earlier, this poor girl was taken just steps from where I was now standing, gave me the chills (and it was broad daylight for me at the time and I was there with a guy friend...so creepy).
It happened near the side entrance of the house. :(

Yup, right around the time he disappeared, they started building...those of us from the surrounding area like to get more specific and say he is in the enzone.....or the 20 yard line, depending on who you talk to.

edited to say: jimmy hoffa= end of 1975
giants stadium= 1976

Okay I don't even know who he is except a mobster...but I'm not buying the "he's in the stadium theory". Think about it. If he was killed and they wanted to bury him they'd have to get him in the concrete while it was still very wet. And that would have been during the day probably. There's no way (that I can see) that they could have put him in any building being made cuz they'd have to pay off so many people. Just a thought!:p

It's funny how every few years you hear another thing about Hoffa just spring up, new leads, clues, confessions etc. I hope they find his remains so the mystery will finally be solved.

Actually, he was the president of the Teamsters Union. Whether that makes him a mobster or not, I don't know.

Given the right "help," it wouldn't be too tough to deposit a bunch of body parts in the foundation of a building.

sigmanuzk 07-17-2003 03:30 AM

He's probably in a 50 gallon drum filed with concrete at the bottom of lake michigan.

JohnsDGsweethrt 07-17-2003 08:21 AM

They didn't find anything in the dig :(
