Books About Alpha Kappa Alpha??

I am currently doing research on the sororities that I am interested in. I was wondering if anyone knows of any books written about AKA and where to find them?? I know about the one written by Marjorie Parker, but are there any others? Any info you can contribute will be a great help--thanks in advance!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Hello,

I was also doing research (on another sorority) and I found out that there is a book called in The Eye of the Beholder. It is unattainable from the non-greek end.All your info is right here on the internet. Go to web sites, blackplanet.com., and especially International web sites. Make sure you check out all the sororities: Sigma Gamma Rho, Zeta phi beta, Delta Sigma Theta, and AkA. You should also meet those soroity members near you. Don't be afraid to ask questions...

There will be no book with AKA information because we do not put our history in public for display. We only tell what we want people to know. If you want to know about community service that is different just ask an AKA or go to our webpage www.aka1908.com.

Another good reference is The Divine Nine, by Lawrence Ross. It provides a basic overview of all of the NPHC organizations.

I've read posts by some that say that somethings in this particular book isn't true about certain FRAT/Sororities. If you have heard this or have read the book, how true is this and for what FRAT/Sorority http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif.

I have heard the same thing. I don't now about the validity behind it though.
Does anyone out there know?

Well the information on the BGLO's organizations is a little distorted but, who wants their information put out there so accuratly that someone could claim the BGLO name?
