and our other brethren....
Do you serve on IFC or do you have any clout with the poobahs who make these decisions?
When was the last time you brought on another fraternity? Not everyone can be a TKE, nor can all wear a Kappa Sig badge... And just because the last GLO did not make it does not mean that the next one will fail...give 'em a chance, prithee do. OR...even better, bring BACK a chapter now dormant... Encourage a good man to start a local, affiliate with an international. You will love that experience, believe me. Help enhance the Greek image by bringing on a chapter or so a year. It is a great feeling, and there are a goodly number of good outfits you will immensely enjoy. We are upping our Greek chapters here. Now up yours. YITB, Erik P Conard, KoA, CFC, Denver |

erik,
as much as i respect your opinion, tke keeps me busy enough. to add to that, the fratrernities that lost their charter, on my campus, were a bunch of a-holes and have gone underground. to bring that back that would be a travesty. in my opinion (as humble as it may be), only being concerned with your teke chapter may be the best thing for those in certain situations. -bobby |
good point...
Yes, frater Bobby, your point is a good one. We must assess all our moves, and where a chapter has been bad...well, use good judgment. But even a lousy chapter can come back and
be a good one. The soured chapter may be revived by good alums and we'll then have orphaned alumni happy plus a win-win situation. I think the chapters which have died ought to have the first chance to return. It has never been TKE's policy to go on a campus to simply replace an existing or weak one either. But, your view is valued, too. Yes, each in his own way. YITB, Erik |
