Willie Lynch, Browder Files, Frances Cress Welsing etc.

How many of you accept these notions as true "scholarship"? I was listening to a female professor discuss the "Willie Lynch" papers on "How to Create a Docile Negro" and it made me think because she had to keep couching her terms when callers questioned the validity of the papers. I'm a fan of Afro-centric studies and consider it one of my academic pursuits, however, many of the popular literary pieces out there, lack academic credibility.

Is there a particular piece of Afrocentric literature that anyone swears by and why? I'm looking to expand my library.

Well I consider J.A. Rogers a pretty reputable source. I guess part of it is because I want to believe the good things he says about us and part of it is because no one has refuted him (not that I've seen).

I like J.A Rogers as well. Mainly for his ability to state the facts without unsubstantiated editoriolizing, which is the problem that I have with a lot of popular Afrocentric "scholarship".

I have found Frances Cress Welsing to be BS.

Not sure where most people start, but I have found that once you start w/ a bias, you tend not to look, or at least not search diligently, for counter arguments.
