Back to school?
 

Need some advice ..... (Imagine that)

I "Quit" (read: withdrew to figure out what I wanna do) school in spring of 2002 to get my life back in order. I now (finally) have a few things figured out..I have a job I mostly love and an apartment I adore.. I don't particularly LOVE the town I'm in, but it is where I've mostly lived for the last ten years, so it's not too over the top horrible. I left school, basically, because I was too busy being social and not busy enough being academic. I'm not positive if I'd even get accepted back in because of how horribly I let my grades slip. Most of the time I miss it because I miss the social interaction, I miss my sisters (duh!), I miss being on campus, I even KINDA miss class (but not TOO much :p)...I just don't know if I should try to go back. If I do, it will require MAJOR effort on my part and will TOTALLY be my last chance....Because if I fark it up again, my father will lose all faith in me...And actually I will too...So I don't know what to do. Opinions?? Advice, PLEASE?!?!

Perhaps I'll post this in Chit Chat too, to get some more responses, but I want to hear from my sisters the most!!!!


And P.S. I'm watching the new Uncle Kracker video for "Drift Away" and does anyone else thing he's FINNNNNNE???!! Dayum!

Id say go for it. If this is your last chance why not take it? You have made major change in your life and I know you can get your grades up and balance that wonderful "social" group we call home ;) Ive got faith in you sis!

I think you should go to a community college or an Ivy Tech type deal for a semster and get your grades up. Ball State will be more willing to accept you if they see you have made a change for the better.

Find out what credits would trasnfer there.

That's what I would do if I was you. Good luck.

i think purduegirly has a great point. go to community college to get back into the swing of things and to get your grades up. it will probably be much easier to get back into the academic swing of things at ball state after you've done it without the social scene. once you have it down, you can add the social part back in.
the other big thing is getting those grades up so you can get back in.

ps - don't be afraid to do something b/c there is a chance you'll fail. otherwise, we wouldn't even be living life cuz Lord knows it's easy to fail so many things.

go back to school now before life gets in the way. we're only young once and we have the time and energy to do it now! i've got one more year left and i don't wanna leave and hit the real world. . .aaaakkkk. . . .go back!!!!! an education is one our most important assets when we're looking for that all important well paying job that we like in this *ahem* wonderful job market.

This is advice coming from someone who did go back, after 2 years out in the real world. Do it. it's hard, but do it. My parents didn't go back until they were 40 with two kids, and I knew I didn't want that for myself. You only have one more year left, and it's worth the work. You will only feel better about yourself, and you will be so glad you did. The longer you stay out, the harder it is to go back.
